Try now. (The settings are a little opaque - I just changed something but am not sure exactly what). Please also check whether the change now enables you to delete other people's posts - I am not sure we want that for all members, especially as spammers can apparently become members.)

Yup, I am a Noob. Can post and edit. So being a Noob is not much deterrence to Spammers. Noobs can apparently post and edit BEFORE confirming their email address.

Now I am a member. Can still only edit. Rats.

Will play some more later. Until then, the time honored method of deleting the content of the post and writing "Oops" is, I think, received with goodwill around these parts.

If you want to insert hyperlink:  mark the image and body and paste the link on option 4 from the right ^^

Greg, amc2 had an edit issue also. I have not run into that myself. What browser are you using? I can edit your post fine.

Thanks GP  - Internet Explorer 11. It is not all the time - I'd already added the last sentence as an edit, posted it and then went back to add the word (thanks for doing it!). I had a similar problem a few days ago. If I have the same issue again, I'll go in via Chrome to see if that makes a difference. Probably time I changed to Chrome as my default browser anyway
