. . .As a companion to the five-part "death speaks," Lang also composed "depart," the second piece on the CD. Featuring four solo vocalists with Maya Beiser on multi-tracked cellos, the music offers a life-affirming meditative ambience intended to help family members deal with the death of a loved one. . .
I've just found out that my next door neighbour's wife has just died, only 60 years old.
Ok, resizing is possible if you save the resized jpg to your computer and then upload to the mb. - Uploading is certainly a nice new feature, but a little troublesome if you just want to post an image for something you are just streaming, as in this case from Bandcamp.
ETA: But I still can't figure out how to attach the url to the image.
@ djh: I've enjoyed these albums for a long time because of the amazing musicians gathered. You may want to check out a review here. I tend to agree with it.
Charles Clapaud « Ruptures » (1978) "The idea of the break (rupture) as a disruptive phenomenon should be integrated into discourses and perceived musically: to break the silence, a matter, shapes, plans... In this musical piece, two main parts can clearly be identified: In the first part, the chaotic activity of the sound material (crumbled, fragmented, discontinuous forms) blossoms into a static burst. A sustained deep tone settles within a sort of "Cadence" and highlights a solo sequence of discontinuous sound “lines”. The entire sound spectrum then erupts, abruptly interrupted by three loud blasts. In the second part, the fragmented form unfolds as a whole initial sequence, followed by a second one where other forms overlap in a kind of sound collage that induce emergence phenomena. The piece ends as a sharp break." - Charles Clapaud.
Not that I was unaware of it, but I have been snoozing on this one. A trio of Taborn with Lightcap and Cleaver was probably my standout live show of the year.
