    "ultra-violins"
I was just looking at the What Are You Reading thread then moved onto this one, basically "I got what you did there" ;-) Is this a good recording btw or does it show 1964 type limitations?
Ha! Yeah, I kinda did a "funny" there.
You can get the "Four Violins" as a single disc split into two tracks or,
if you're feeling really adventurous, as the 4 disc set "Early Minimalism Volume One"
    with the uninterrupted 32+ minutes.
    Here's an excerpt:

  • Otis Redding- Otis Blue
  •

Second time through, really enjoying this!
  • You can't go far wrong with a Lisbon Tram, but I only ever rode the #1 not the #12. Actual recommendation by the Emu Robots.

    Absencen
    Kammerflimmer Kollektief - Absencen

I first listened to Kammerflimmer Kollektief years back when I was mainly listening to electronic and ambient. The two early albums that I got at emusic were captivating, but when I listened to samples of later ones they were different and I kind of lost interest. I am just going back through the half dozen releases since then after a few years of intensive jazz listening, and they make a LOT more sense to my ears now. A nice treasure trove.
  • Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

  • Joakim Berghall - "Dialogues II"

  • Kollektief
    Kammerflimmer Kollektief - Jinx
    Then:
    Desarroi

  • Free for a week...

Well, I still have all of my Kathleen Edwards on the computer but I'm afraid Rose Cousins is standing by on the broken external hard drive wondering when I'm going to get it fixed.

    An EP of mostly covers.

Ps A really terrific listen. She has such a great voice!

Speaking of beautiful vocals. I've had this one in SFL since last summer. Thanks Bn.
I really can't remember who put me on to the Clogs in the first place. Thanks to you too!

ps Wow.....again.  I'd almost forgotten about My Brightest Diamond and that Sufjan sound. Deserves some more exploring.

I don't have any DM Stith in the library and I really did enjoy a lot of that Asthmatic Kitty  label.

ps- another really great listen. Had visions of Kenny Rankin at one point & had me thinking about Jeff Buckley too.
  • Live at SFJAZZ Center 2013 The Music of Chick Corea New Compositions album cover

  • Some curious comments about whether the horns are "de-tuned"...I certainly don't hear it, not that I have any ear. Perhaps explains why you don't hear more about this album
  • 10th Anniversary Best of Live at the Sfjazz Center October 10 - 13 2013 album cover

Nice, dreamlike, ambient, free at the FMA

There was a report from Canada in the news earlier today.
It looked like the situation is quite serious right now. I hope you and your loved ones are alright and you will get some rain very soon.

Well, I sure appreciate your concern. We're all safe. All my sons & family are in Calgary (about 3 hrs south of us on a 4 lane highway) and the fires are in the Fort McMurray region (400 km NE of us on a lot of 2 lane). A city hit hard by the falling oil prices now facing devastation. A lot of the 80,000+ folks that were ordered to evacuate are seeking refuge here in Edmonton. It's just so sad to imagine only having a short time to get your things together and get out with your life. We'll all do the best we can to help them out.
One of the news stories here.

I went to my SFL from last summer.
    From 1996

    ps- terrific, on both accounts
