Awesome 2015 (re) release by Klanggalerie (released May 28, 2015):

Arabic Yodelling + Grain By Grain (For Accuracy)

    - "Arabic Yodelling was Renaldo & The Loaf's third album and their second for Ralph Records. It took two years to make and finally saw the light of day in 1983. This collection of songs and tunes describes characters, places and covert observations, although not designed to have a preconceived storyline, the songs seem to lend themselves to a picture show of the mind. Each listener is free to wander through this place, creating (or not) their own interpretation. The title comes from ‘Like Some Kous-Kous Western’. There’s a bit where Brian Poole sings something that sounds vaguely eastern or Arabic and somehow mutates into something like a yodel – David Janssen commented that it sounded like Arabic yodelling and that was filed away somewhere for future use. Around the same time, a lot of other tracks were started, but never finished. RATL now collected lots of these bits and peaces, worked on them, and for the third time we present you this release as a deluxe double CD. Some of the bonus tracks will find you stunned. Others are classic Renaldo & The Loaf. You will love this, we promise. Remastered from the original tapes!"

    Thanks, BN, this is nice.
    ETA, beautiful in fact.
  • Your'e welcome,

    Reposting from the Cantaloupe thread:

Cantaloupe artists Sö Percussion is offering a brilliant free remix album of their Amid The Noise album from 2006:

    - "We made these remixes on the road for fun, and enjoyed listening to them loud in the car driving back to Brooklyn late at night. They are rough, but we like them and would love to give them to you as a gift for listening to us. Enjoy!"

Over the past three weeks or so I've listened to shows from 1966 through 1975.

Re first and third albums above, it seems I am now far enough removed from my excessive post-rock binge of a few years ago to listen to those albums with simple enjoyment again. Nice to get part of my music collection back, as it were.

Trigger Hippy: Exclusive Performance - Trigger Hippy is Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman, guitarist Guthrie Trapp, singer Joan Osborne and bassist Nick Govrik. Nice rock and roll on this free EP, except you can't really download it because Amazon slaughtered their download manager.

Just tried setting up a USA Amazon account to download the free EP above. All going well until, of course, it wanted my credit card details which it, as usual, recognised as non-US! We used to get similar free live recordings form Amazon UK but they stopped about 6 months ago. Worth the try though....

Welle: Erdball, Alles ist Möglich. Saw them live several years ago where they gave a dedication to it being the 30th anniversary of the Commodore 64. Very odd, but a good show on stage. Just rediscovered them on my computer.

    Which is not a C64.

    These days.
