The Legendary Pink Dots' Hallowe'en Special 2018 "All straight lines form a circle if you follow them for long enough.....As usual this Hallowe'en Special release is time limited. It will disappear, and (gasp) there will be no warning..."
- "December the 16th, it’s snowing outside but all is quiet in Cubicle 19 in the place they call Chrystopia.
Only a few months earlier when Santa 19 started his new job, the queue
of children stretched around the block. But as the days and weeks
passed, the crowds grew thinner and thinner as those kids preferred to
line up elsewhere.
Quite simply, the word had gone around that the other Santas were more
fun. They seemed younger, hipper, happier. If a child pulled on a beard,
one of those guys would simply remove it, laugh and offer it as a
trophy before reaching for the necessary replacement. Santa 19 merely
howled in pain and pleaded for the naughty child to stop.
Santa 19 was too melancholy for seasonal fun. . . ."
This once exclusive Bandcamp release has been sonically enhanced, extended with extra tracks and released on cd and as a digital album by Cleopatra Records from Los Angeles. The full digital download can be found at the label's webstore here:https://wearethelegendarypinkdots.bandcamp.com/album/come-out-from-the-shadows-ii .....but all who purchase the cd from us will also receive a code for the digital download in all popular formats. A glimpse into how the Shadow Weaver and Malachai albums came into existence with this collection of raw , searching sessions where Patrick Q. was a guest on violin together with a mystery percussionist who took everyone's breath away. We kept this release raw in order to give the listener the feeling that he or she is right in the room with the musicians. Quiet pleasures are here ,my friends. Enjoy!
Released December 11, 2018
Unavailable for a year, "Five Days" and "Five Days-The Instrumentals" are now combined on single cd and released by Cleopatra Records. The full download can be found via the Cleo webstore.
Holy smokes, 42 hrs. I'm so far behind right now I'm not sure when I'll get caught up. Plus, I still have Pauline Oliveros' Reverberations: Tape & Electronic Music 1961-1970 waiting for me to get to the Ps. I guess I don't have to worry til I get back to the As.
A delightful and spontaneous collaboration between Houston's Nuits Rouges and Edward Ka-Spel, celebrating a friendship spanning several years. The vinyl edition of this album features a beautiful silk-screen print for the cover. Nuits Rouges is Richard Ramirez and Sean Matzus of Black Leather Jesus. This limited edition is released by Next Hallowe'en Records (artist run by Richard and Sean) and can also be obtained directly from the label at: www.nexthalloweenrecords.com
Of all the labels I ever dealt with, none come close to Canada’s
Nettwerk in their complete disrespect of the artists who keep them
alive. After that bizarre mp3 CD-R through Amazon of “Tired Eyes Slowly
Burning” a few years ago, now it seems the same album has appeared on
vinyl for Record Store Day. Alas, we cannot offer copies through our own
mail order - they never bothered to tell us about it. It is as if they
haven’t noticed that labels have been dying over the last decades for
precisely that kind of behaviour. They seem to forget that we too can
deliver releases as a “surprise “. Watch this space, I’ll chat with
cEvin about this...
C60 tape released with the Tryst Magazine No. 7.
Ltd ed 200. This is no 049.
Both LPD and BCO produced two different mixes of their material for this release, and versions were then mixed, meaning there are 4 different editions of this release.
Packaged with a magazine (28 pages), toys, stickers, etc
This is a release following the transfer of the recently unearthed analogue master tapes of this record from 1985. Digital enhancement has been minimal and those close to this record will hear a marked difference with the cd master. "Eyes" is very much a collaborative album, made together with composer and sound wizard Hero Wouters whose contribution was utterly priceless. A big thank you has to go to Marylou who was responsible for introducing me to Hero, to Freek Kinkelaar who produced the tape and to Ray Steeg who hunted down the machine and the tools to make the dusty masters come alive again.
A fun sized taster for the new EK solo album, "The Moon Cracked Over Albion" which will be formally launched on The Legendary Pink Dots' Bandcamp site in the near future. released July 18, 2019
"Even on the darkest day. Even on the longest night. Even when there seems to be no hope left. Even when you surf the channels and see only monsters. Even little you, little me, pacing our way through a forest of dark menacing shadows wondering if the great creator had simply sneezed upon the candle we need to guide us through to kinder pastures. Even now my friends, there is an Angel In The Detail." - Edward Ka-Spel
This is the first volume of a series dedicated to experiments from the Ka-Spellian Laboratory which are to be delivered as soon as they are finished. The intention is to remain under the radar but also to allow a peak through the curtain on works in progress, as something happens in this mysterious space every day..

Edward Ka-Spel - Waves Unchained - released November 23, 2019
All music by:
dAS (BCO),
Edward-Ka Spel, Frans De Waard,
Ninah Pixie (BCO), Philip Knight (The Silverman)
released October 28, 2019
- represents the almost transcendental result of
“Discipline In The Studio” as members of The Big City Orchestra,
Legendary Pink Dots And Frans De Waard (Modelbau, Kapotte Muziek and
much more) combined to create a stream of 60 minute soundtracks for a TV
station in San Francisco .
If that sounds like a recipe for chaos, then think again. The
concentration involved was almost terrifying, but the satisfaction
displayed when that clock hit the magical 60 minute mark seemed like a
glorious release.
All the music here was recorded in The Silverman’s Attic studio .
Das And Ninah of Big City Orchestra instigated the project and flew to The Netherlands for these sessions.
The first hours involved them, The Silverman and Frans while Edward
Ka-Spel joined for the last part of the penultimate session and the
final hour.
Edward had literally just got off the train from London, tiptoed
upstairs, unpacked his keyboard and various devices, connected the wires
as soundlessly as possible and found his patch in the cauldron. The
“Hellos” were delayed as only 30 minutes had passed of that particular
musical voyage.
When the music was over, there seemed to be a general consensus that
this meeting of minds needed to be heard by a wider audience. A big
thank you to Frans for the hours he spent editing to make this release
possible.
Wow ! - Here's some brilliant very early LPD stuff:
released December 9, 2019
Final volume in the "Traumstadt" cassette series originally issued jointly by The Dots and Germany's Jarmusic label early in the 90s. Staalplaat later reissued this cassette. It's a collection of bits and pieces, mostly from compilations and there is quite a bit of duplication with other titles in the LPD catalogue but "Even Now-Eventide" is exclusively here. We're making this title available for a limited time period following renewed interest from Pink Dots' followers.
"Celebrating the 40th year in existence by being as productive as they are is no simple task. It's astounding they continue to record and release as much music and continue to tour extensively." - Jon Whitney
The North American part of The Dots' 40th Anniversary Tour was an
intense adventure, but this show at The Echo in Los Angeles was truly a
highlight. A sold-out venue with a highly excitable audience reminded us
of glory days two decades back at The famous Roxy Club. For sure, I
think we passed the audition...
The Last 10 Years ( A Compilation For The Courageous)
This collection is an overview of The Legendary Pink Dots in the years 2010 to 2020. It's primarily aimed at those who recently discovered The Dots, but are terrified by the enormous discography (like the character on the cover for instance) and those who perhaps stopped listening a couple of decades ago but are curious. Dive in, enjoy and prepare yourself for the BIG rollercoaster ride.
"Following a trawl through Pink Dots' deliveries over the last 10 years,
it feels like the perfect moment to serve up an overview of a decade's
worth of solo outpourings."
(the)Dustbombers is a noise/wave/ psychedelic band from
Arnhem and Nijmegen, the Netherlands. We combine electronic beats with
loud fuzzguitar, bass and vocals.
It's been nearly 50 years since the first Brown Acid Caveat was issued
to a million hippies in a field at the first Woodstock Festival. In
these dark , more-knowing times The Tear garden felt it was the perfect
moment to mark their 30th Anniversary with a similar warning ,
especially as their first album back in 1987 bore the declaration , "We
Will Pour Our Jars in Reservoirs" on the cover. In fact , we were
joking. Despite the madness you may perceive all around you right now,
those jars were stashed on the highest shelf of a kitchen cupboard and
the key was tossed into the ocean. Our sole wish is to introduce beauty
to the medieval landscape we appear to be trapped in right now. There
will be no brown paint splashed around. Beauty survives , even
underneath the ugliest, heaviest rock. This is The tear Garden's 8th
record and is testimony to an enduring friendship that spans the
aforementioned ocean. After 8 years, The Tear Garden (the
psychedelic/experimental/electronic project of Edward Ka-Spel of The
Legendary Pink Dots & cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy) return with "The
Brown Acid Caveat", the culmination of the duo's 31 years of working
together. Psychedelic electronic melancholia , fearless experimentation
& improvisation combine to take the intrepid listener on a
mesmerizing voyage of the mind. Feel the Love. Don't touch the brown
acid.
