- The track that brought Else Torp to Nick Cave's attention.
Well, the garden's been keeping me pretty busy but I'm taking a night off to catch up to some album listening. I've really been enjoying the rotation but I'm getting behind on listening to the downloads. At any rate, I see by my itunes that i only have the Arvo Pärt: Portrait album and the last listen was in Dec. of 2012 and replayed my favourite track-Cantus in memoriam - in Feb/15. While exploring I discovered that Chris Watson is included on this album, which reminded my that I'd downloaded a single back in July, from this album, that i haven't listened to yet.
Warrigal Night - Chris Watson (2004)
& then from the SFL Aug 1st Victor Herrero - Anacoreta (2009) from Discogs
OKA, which means “listen” in Bayaka language, is a metaphorical journey between various worldwide tribes. Starting and closing with a lullaby from a mother to her child, the 9 tracks depict a day of passing by rain dances, odes to forest spirits and water, child’s plays, dugout canoe trips, hunting and gathering songs and vodun ceremonies... This project brings ethnic sounds from different communities out of Africa, the Caribbean, Oceania and electronics together and combines worldwide atmospheres, blending current sonorities and ancient samples. Le Motel spent years collecting samples from all around the world (mostly ethnic music related to ceremonies), field recording from the jungle as well as utilising sounds from his own environment. He aims to connect those different cultures and periods within his music.
From a 3 disc Birdland 1953 album on ESP Disc; I'm currently reading this book "Every Song Ever" (remind me to put that on the reading thread) and it was talking about this version of Salt Peanuts, and there it was on emusic.
Then: WITCH HOUSE IS DEAD, by I don't know who. A little ep I found on a hard drive while looking for something else, from a few years ago, I guess around the time witch house died.

Still trying to accept the change of their sound. Still don't really care for it.
