  • Here is some of the music played in the Lowlife house this year, its been another great one.

The year I gad to say goodbye to E music but found a load of other great stuff using the odd streaming service such as Spotify & Bandcamp before buying them. I am sorry not been posting much over the last week but my trusty Mp3 player was lost at a gig and I have spent lots of time getting music onto my new one.

This period of the year is always busy in our house but this year includes my step daughters wedding and being trusted with supplying the music for the wedding breakfast has taken lots of thought.

    Bandcamp best of Ambient list.

I agree that Sora was very good.
I think it's a stretch to call The Kid is an ambient album. It has ambient passages, but there is no way e.g. track 3 is ambient. Even bandcamp's own review mentions "chaotic drums." Discogs has it filed as "electronic, pop" which seems about right to me.

I am dischuffed that the Galley Beggar isn't available to me on Emu as I saw them pre first album at a private festival a couple of years ago on a farm in  Kent (and also that I subsequently bought their first album). Anyway think of a more in your face (ish!) Fairport Convention sorta thing. Glad they are getting recognition, and from over the pond at that!
  • For what its worth, I have assembled a Soundcloud playlist called:

  • Peter Margasak's list might be my favorite for the year - Like Gioia's, broad-ranging but jazz-literate. Margasak seems to me stronger on electronics & contemporary music, Gioia on international

From @Nereffid ‘s list, “Music Related to Neurodegenerative Conditions” has to be one of the least appealing album titles I have seen for a while.

Gp, I had the exact opposite reaction.

Reminded me of Joe Colley's aptly titled Psychic Stress Soundtracks.
