Pretty spiffy, and will be of interest to some here, I think. Daisy is a drummer; on this solo album he's on marimba, turntables and percussion. Lots of interesting-looking things on his label, Relay Records
David Torn electric guitar, live looping
Stephan Thelen tritone guitar
Bernhard Wagner tritone guitar

Tranceportation Volume 2 is the next destination in Sonar’s ongoing
musical journey as the Swiss-based band celebrates 10 years of
cutting-edge music-making.
Once again the quartet formed in 2010 have joined forces with
internationally-respected experimental guitarist, David Torn, to deliver
an album brimming with a sound that's marked by bold, resonant
creativity. . .
This was just released yesterday (what a title for a June release!) and is already a candidate for my album of the year. I find it exceedingly beautiful. At times it sounds like a 1970s Hovis ad cross-bred with whale song. I am not sure if it is really "jazz" (at times it could be ambient, or a hymn) but its hugely worth listening to in a good sonic environment.
I am teaching 3 online grad courses totaling over 120 students over the next month, which is taking an inordinate amount of time, so few chances to drop by here. Had to post this, though.
Just finishing the TD articles in the latest Wire mag and realised I'd rarely heard the complete soundtrack. Now to see if the film is available on Prime.
Domino is proud to present Henryk Górecki: Symphony No. 3 (Symphony of
Sorrowful Songs) performed by Beth Gibbons and the Polish
National Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki.
The performance took place at The National Opera Grand Theatre in Warsaw on
November 29th 2014. In advance of the concert, Beth Gibbons undertook
an intense preparation process, including tackling the challenge of learning
the original text (and the emotional weight it carries) without speaking the
mother language.
. . . Julius Eastman (who died in 1990 under unexplained circumstances),
remained the supreme underground composer. He was Afro-American and gay,
a composer who rocked the cerebral world of process music with his
explosions of free improvisation. This is first time any of Eastman’s
music has been available on LP, with the three extended pieces for four
pianos, Gay Guerrilla, Evil Nigger and Crazy Nigger, all written and
preformed around 1980. All three works generate their epic soundscapes
through adamantly restated patterns and interlocking canons, not
fragmenting now, but preaching urgent truths. . . .
