I held out on buying CDs for a very long time. But once I began, it was a flood of purchasing.

I remember I purchased my first CD at Jerry's Record Exchange in Denver (on Colfax).  And it probably happened in 1995 or 1996.  I don't think I'll ever remember the first.  Or even the fifth.  But it would've been something really cheap in the bargain bin, to where the price difference between the CD and a cassette or used vinyl would've been negligible.  I swear, I think it might've been a Lenny Kravitz album.  Or Faith No More, perhaps.

However, I believe the first time I bought a used CD regardless of price... when I'd finally decided it was gonna be CDs from now on... was this one...

I believe it cost me $8.

The first CD I purchased in new condition and with no consideration for price (I think) was...

And I would've bought this at Jerry's Record Exchange, too.

Man, it's tough to remember for sure though.

The first I bought was Dire Straits Brothers in Arms. In the first year of CDs in the U.K. this outsold all other CD sales put together.
  • @greg Now you've gone and done it
