Another new release I highly recommend.

Klabbes Bank - "Je Suis la Mer"

I pretty much can't stop listening to this album. It won't be for everybody; it just happens to coincide with the kind of sound I'm really into right now. It appeals to me much in the same way the Esbjorn Svensson Trio does, along with a little of the playfulness of Kamikaze Ground Crew and perhaps some of the shiny notes from Azure's "When She Smiles". The timing of this album was perfect for me. I just picked up Eivind Opsvik's "Overseas III" (a 2008 release) and really enjoyed it, but I still found myself looking for a blast of inspiration from something "new". The last time I felt it was when I happened upon Sickafoose's "Tiny Resistors", and I don't know, just feeling musically empty lately until this one. Now? Ecstatic.
They have a full line-up of instruments without it feeling too crowded. Some poignantly meloncholie moments interspersed with frenetic bundles of notes, the overall effect is a moody gray morning broken up by picture perfect lightning. But enough of my hackneyed descriptive attempts; here's their myspace page...

And their emu page...

  • Thank you. I changed it in the OP. It appears I pasted it twice in a row, and for some reason, the fact that the url took up almost the length of the posting area didn't instigate any questions in the object in my head that speciously refers to itself as "the brain".
    Cheers.

    I do a google Image search on the album cover. I then pick out an image of the cover that comes from a site that I deem safe (Amazon address is always good). I also pick out an image size that'll fit the screen (250 x 250 is optimal, but if you go up to about 500 x 500, you still will probably fit it; anything less than 75x75 becomes hard to see, but sometimes you have no option). I then click on the image. It will then give you a preview of the screen you're about to enter. Don't go onto the site. Instead, quickly choose the option of "See Full Size Image". That will then simply give you a page with just the album cover on it. Copy the url address from your browser line above. Paste it into your emuser post. At the start of the address, put a . At the end of the address, put a. Make sure you have the BBCode bubble at the bottom of your post (located just above the "Add your comments" and "Characters left" options). You should be good to create the rest of your post.
    Let me know if you run into any problems.

    P.S. For some reason, the site "Rateyourmusic[dot]com" always gives my security system fits, so I never use it for an image search choice.
  • My goodness ! This seems like a time consuming process.

    Thank you very much !

    Use the following code to post images:

    Including an image
    [img]http://www.bbcode.org/images/lubeck_small.jpg[/img]

    Resizing the image
    [img=100x50]http://www.bbcode.org/images/lubeck_small.jpg[/img]

    Making the image clickable (in this case linking to the original image)
    [url=http://www.bbcode.org/images/lubeck.jpg][img]http://www.bbcode.org/images/lubeck_small.jpg[/img][/url]

    Not all of these will work on all sites. It depends on how much they restrict bb code capabilities on the particular site - eMu tends to strip out the ability to do just about everything,

    Thank you very much !

    You're welcome. I wrote out a lengthy description only because I don't know you or how computer savvy you are, so I may have made it look more complicated than it really is. In truth, that whole process only takes me about thirty seconds to get an image into a post, if even that.
    Cheers.

    Jay ! ! !
    Done by a computer iliterate like me !

    - I did'nt quite get this about putting an x in though.
    But after fiddling arround a few times I got this amazing result.
  • That x is for resizing the image (the numbers are length and width in pixels), but I don't think the capability is enabled on this site.
