Does anyone else find it interesting that there hasn't been a new release on Amie St. since Friday? Have they ever done this before for this long, any long time users?
They said something big was going to happen today. Not sure what, but the site is having major problems now which typically means either their developers screwed up, or there was a MAJOR drop and the traffic is overwhelming them.
all of Robert Wyatt's back catalog is up - although I don't know if that qualifies as their "big" thing - unfortunately it won't let me cash my rec's or buy credit to get any of them.
Quite a few $5.00 albums. Weirdly enough I initially thought a bunch of them were 'free' but it was weird that the ones labeled 'free' were ones I had already purchased. Logging out and going to the page showed a real price.
Interesting. I already have or don't want most of those, but I've been meaning to pick up Passion Pit and $4.99 with my 50% off credit may do the trick.
Perhaps Amiestreet wants to look up the word "big" in the dictionary. If the 2009 list is the "big news", then it is disappointing. It's a good sale, not a great sale. Most of the ones I would get I got when they were new.
In the meantime, Duke Ellington Live for free / cheap, if you like that sort of thing.

That was very exciting. I've only recently discovered him, and seeing him pop up on Amie St. was fortunate timing.

I hear what you're saying, but it's been a pretty great year to have been hip to Amie. I can't help but think the way it's wrapping up is sorta anti-climactic, but I might not be in the best position to judge it. I mean, there were a few months when I was logging in to the site three or four times daily and repeatedly hitting the refresh button and downloading all types of cool stuff or just stuff that might be cool but I got it at a good price so why the hell not and also punch in some quick recs while it's at a low price, too. Tough to maintain that excitement all through the year.
Well, I considered blowing $0.22 to post this in a REC but this Irishman just couldn't bear wasting money that could be spent on beer, so's in honor of the last new release for the last 12 hours by the ubiquitous Hit Co.-

I wouldn't call myself a long time user, but I've never seen a break this long without at least a Crimson Razorback or Mike Van Kool.
