Cluster & Brian Eno - "Cluster & Eno"
For those of you who enjoy Eno minimalist stuff like "Music for Airports", his album with shoe-gaze electronic band Cluster is getting the reissue treatment. It looks like this...
Brian Eno and Cluster - "Cluster and Eno"
Peaceful drone and gentle keyboards, it's finally allowed me to retire "Music for Airports" as a first-of-the-morning album. This was my first experience with Cluster, and based on this album and their myspace page, I'm gonna be looking to pick up some of their stuff, which appears to be getting reissued. Apparently Cluster has been around for awhile, and considering the directions my music tastes wander, I'm surprised I haven't run into them sooner.
Here's the emusic page. It'll cost you 8 dls...

Here's the myspace page, which has a couple tunes off the album and other good Cluster stuff...

And here's a youtube page with an album track and which you can jump to others from...

I'm not sure about describing Cluster as shoe-gaze. They've been around nearly as long as Eno. They fit more squarely in the Kraut Rock and space rock movement. Of their own albums, Grosses Wasser is really good. I think it was amclark2 who turned me on to it. (Note that emu has two versions of the album: one is 6 credits, the other is 12. The link is for the lesser.)
This reminded me about some good vintage Cluster members stuff:
live 1974 by Harmonia
Harmonia is Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius from Cluster + Michael Rother from NEU!
- And another one that I have'nt checked out yet:
Tracks and Traces by Harmonia & Eno `76
BTW: Michael Rother's Flammende Herzen album is great.
Edit:
This one seems to be worth checking out also...
After The Heat by Eno Moebius Roedelius (from 1978)
