It'll kill me, but I think I'm gonna do it anyway...
A thread for emusic account holders to gnash your teeth and wail to the heavens about albums that you know you shouldn't buy off emusic, but you're gonna do it anyways.
Library Tapes - "Fragment"
8 DLs for just under twenty minutes of music. But, damn, it's really pretty music, just what I need to wake up to in the morning.
Maybe I'll use my V-Day emu "gift" on it.
Reluctantly.
Nineteen minutes and fifty fucking seconds.
Goddammit!
I wish I thought this album was boring.
I wish I hated it.
This'll teach me to explore the halls at emu.
And listen to stuff and shit.
Dammit.

I already regret it.
The music is pretty and all, but the albums over before I've had a chance to settle in and enjoy it.
For whatever reason, I just couldn't find music that I wanted to use my final 16 dls on. I was a couple hours from refreshing and losing those 16 dls, but nothing sounded good to me. I've got something like 150 albums in my SFL, but my ears just wouldn't budge. I was like some child who's so hungry he doesn't want to eat anything and just be fussy.
So I downloaded the Library Tapes.
Bleh.
Next on the list, Skyphone's "Avelleneda".
They had two tracks on their myspace, both are pretty nifty.
I found one on Youtube. It's okay.
That's it. I can't find anywhere on the web to stream their album once to hear it to see if I want to buy it. Nowhere. Not youtube, not lala, not lastfm, not the band site, not the label site, nowhere. Quite frankly, I'm at the point where I might for the first time ever try one of those torrent sites so I can get a single solitary listen.
Their label is Rune Grammafone, who have a history of being stingy bastards with the free listens. Another band, "In the Country", I have the same predicament with them. I won't buy their "Throwins Stones, Losing Bones" (or something like that) album without getting a listen.
There's enough I've heard with both albums that makes me think I'll be wasting my money if I buy them. My gut feeling is the only couple songs they're putting out there are the only good ones on the album and the rest are just noodling or filler.
Screw that. I don't have time for albums that I mostly don't care for. I'm not into singles.
So Rune Grammaphone (and their bands) won't get a couple sales they might otherwise receive because they're being knuckleheads about getting the music out there.
Fuck 'em.
- But "Fuck 'em" ? - No way !
Rune is run by Rune Christoffersen who once played in the Norwegian band Fra Lippo Lippi
- The same Youtube poster who posted Skyphone has also posted another Danish band similar to Skyphone:
Rumpistol (spacegun)
Difinitely worth checking out.

It's fine.
I guess I don't regret buying it, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have picked it up had I been able to listen to it first.
So I say, fuck you Skyphone. It's the last album of yours I'll ever buy. And if your next album isn't some mediocre electronica ambient, I won't know, 'cause I ain't interested.
And while we're at it, fuck you too, Rune Grammaphone. Not wasting any more money on your label, which means In the Country won't be getting any of my money for their "Losing Stones Collecting Bones" or whatever it's called. Doesn't matter now.
