More generosity? It was a little painful burning through the 100 dl bonus I got this month for starting an annual. The recent bonuses have me a bit exhausted. Now the potential for more ...
(ETA: I might have to download a bunch of Rounder, Music Maker and Arhoolie).
@elwoodicious - Is that an e-mail you got? Is it limited to a single boost pack purchase? I don't see anything on the site about it.
Also, for me, the Best Coast and Sleigh Bells albums really didn't do anything for me, so I skipped them. The Flying Lotus is awesome. Do you have the latest Jamie Lidell? I'm going to d/l it now.
@thom, it made no mention of being restricted but I only bought one per account (I have two). I tossed the Best Coast and the Sleigh Bells in there because all the _cool_ kids were talking about it; easily replaced. :-)
Never heard Jamie Lidell before, the samples sound like a studio session between early Hall and Oates with Bone Machine era Tom Waits with Prince overseeing production. It's got a good freak on.
I was just about to say that I should probably give Sleigh Bells another shot. Maybe I should just grab a track or two that I like. But listening to the whole album I was constantly reaching for the volume knob because it just kept getting loud and obnoxious. Even though I kinda liked it, it was already getting on my nerves. As for Best Coast, I love "Boyfriend" and think she's a solid singles/EP artist. But a full album of her material just sounds like one big mess to me.
@elwoodicious You should definitely check out Lidell's albums. Multiply was a great crossover between soul and electronic, Jim is a full-on soul classic, and his new one is soul/funk/WTF? You might also want to check out Super_collider, his collaboration with Christian Vogel. Their first release, Head On, was some seriously awesome glitchy techno with, once again, soul undertones. I just realized that their second one, Raw Digits, is on eMu. But ignore the others listed there as it's a different band.
I personally LOVE the Sleigh Bells album. Easily top 10 for the year for me. "Crown on the Ground" is my favorite track, but I don't really dislike any of them.
I like loud and obnoxious, though.
The only other album you have listed that I have is the Sun Ra, which was a fantastic rec here on the boards from froggie and I think someone else. I now highly recommend it.
@bad thoughts, it came in as an email and the link in it just lead to the booster pack page. Upon reflection, I might have take a blind leap of faith but then again I do buy booster packs all the time. :-/
My link is this: http://c.emusic.com/a/hBMdEg3B7Q2oFB8TsV1B8f563A0/x87 which redirects to the same url you have. Maybe it is an account flagging but in the past they have not been that sophisticated, my wife has bounced me offer emails like this in the past and I received the sale or bonus. Tomorrow will tell, though!
sadly disloyalty still pays better: I got 24 + 75 disloyalty, + 5 facebook + 10 for rating 10 = 114 for $11.99. I managed to talk myself out of trying the booster thing because I haven't listened to everything I downloaded yet.
I have a feeling something big is coming up and that they're trying to make sure membership numbers and available credits are relatively high...
I think you're right, amclark2. Too much all at once for there not to be a reason.
I still won't have any available credits by the end of the day though (the FB 5 gives me 10, which means I can snag an album I've been wanting). I'm on a 50 per month plan, though, so in a couple weeks I'll be flush again.
If it makes any one else feel better, I didn't get any either beyond the 15 you rock DLs. I already liked eMu on facebook, rated plenty of albums and took the survey. I will go on somehow.
Just to make sure they get credit where credit is due, I e-mailed CS about not getting the 25 bonus credits for my booster purchase and... now I got 'em. Really making out like a bandit having come back when I did. I might stick around another month or two.
Just a heads-up that some of the recent eMu "Loyalty Credits" are about to expire. One set expires tomorrow, another on 9/26. Use 'em (if you haven't) or lose 'em!

Oh holy hell.
Between all the bonuses and this I will have 304 dls to pop in September between 2 accounts. Here's what I have queued up on both accounts:
Suggestions to add/remove? I tried to build them off the suggestions gleaned over time here...
(forgive my terminal laziness for posting images in lieu of text + hyperlinks)

I really enjoyed the Best Coast emu ep though - I could see getting that album.

Could you tell me where you found the 5+25 credit offer? I can't find it anywhere on the website.
Thanks.
@elwoodicious
This is how mine shows up:
https://www.emusic.com/account/upgrade.html?type=3&open=true
(or maybe the link in your email?)
I'm wondering if there is something coded into the link itself, or if it is your account that is flagged for the bonus offer.

Ooooo, I just noticed the Dirty Beaches single on that list. I may have to grab that...
Yay me!
That's the loyalty credit breakdown + the booster. So essentially, I paid $19.99 for 110 credits.

ac2, I'm with you, I'm betting something's going to happen after the beginning of the month. "Site redesign," if nothing else...
