@Craig - BMSR are like listening to a not quite tuned radio station playing music that might by psychedelic pop or folk electronic if it wasn't so weirdly unfocused. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC6aAs4kkbY
"I used to think I was pretty smart,
I knew the license number on your Dodge Dart"
Not a bad song on this album (if you're into this kind of low-fi, humorous ukulele-based folk). I picked up a physical copy of this CD at a show of theirs that me and my roommate stumbled into at some tiny bar in Louisville, KY (I guess they were touring behind this album at the time so it was probably back in 91/92). It turned out to be one of my best/most memorable show experiences.
They played a hilarious song called 'Lawn Dart' from their 1st album. Unfortunately the sample provided by eMu needs to be 5-10 seconds or so longer to get to the chorus: "A kid was pegged in the head with a lawn dart, her dad didn't see her and that's the worst part. She was pegged in the head with a lawn dart, so they're now off the shelves at the Kmart". I spent the next 10 years trying to track down a copy of that CD before finally snagging one that was put up on eBay.
Their 1st album is just as good as this one and the title track has become one of my favorite songs of all time and was worth the entire price of the CD.
edit: Apparently my BBI/HTML skilz aren't what I thought they were... my attempt to link to song samples didn't work. Oh well. Wait... I think I just had a bad link in the 2nd song sample link. Hope it works.

What to listen to next...
Hildegurls - Electric Ordo Virtutum (after Hildegard of Bingen's Ordo virtutum) - (Innova - 2008)
Their debut EP. I really need to get the new LP.
Craig
what were they thinking with that first song?
One of the many great things available from Dave's website
For some reason neither eMu nor Amazon have this Bonus Track version of Ayrton Senna anymore. Weird.
amclark2 - My wife is a HUGE R.E.M. fan and refuses to listen to that track. I have a bit of a soft spot for it, though.

When all else fails, I just use these guys to paint the mood.
thom - I've never actually heard any BMSR. How would you describe them?
