I absolutely love the Smashing Pumpkins, up to and somewhat including Adore, I have never understood the whole Pavement thing, but I am not with Team Corgan. Dude has lost his mind.
Thom, that just reminds me of how Amie never fixed my Pavement DL. Hell with 'em.
Must confess *I* have never understood the Punkins thing. Always found them kind of hard to listen to, and of course here in Chicago they were hyped to death.
For the record I actually do like at least the first half of SP's catalog, but could never stand Corgan. Actually Malkmus tended to rub me the wrong way, too. However, the above Pavement record had a far more profound effect on my musical interest, even if I listened to Siamese Dreams every morning for like 3 months straight.

Thank you Plong42.
One of my old eMusic downloads.
Lovely, somewhat minimalist new classical.

This cat is money, baby, money.
Warming up for Universal?
here's a version of Gorecki's third that's still only 3 np's. Plan to get it tomorrow when I refresh.
Played some Folds for the little one this weekend. Reminded me how brilliant this album is.
These are all bargain-priced at CD Universe. I had gotten some tracks on "The Impulse Story," but decided I needed to fill out these albums.
Thoroughly enjoying her voice and the mellow vibe the album rides.
Thanks for the rec, thom!

Finally got around to snagging this one. With the amount of enjoyment I've gotten from Vol. 1, it's a crime it took me this long.

It's like everyday I play a game - let's see what awesome music I wouldn't own if there was no Amie Street. And then I weep...

EDIT: A better lead-in would have been: "I'm with Team Malkmus!"

Now here's a Chicago guy I do like!

Interesting blend of Portishead and Can.
