I have issues: The emu forum Main Page is all jazz
Yep, you heard me right. I began new threads and bumped old threads, and now the emu forum main page is all jazz related subjects.
I did that.
You're welcome.

2. Thanks for the Guilermo Klein rec - one of the reasons I joined emusers was to get a wider, better set of recommendations for music that I haven't heard ('cause I must hear and acquire more music - more, I tell you , more!).
And happy to oblige on the Klein. "Filtros" is an amazing album. I've listened to "Una Nave" once, but until the recent pricing changes, it wasn't capped at 12 DLs, so it was actually about the same cost to me to buy it new on cd as to DL it on emu. It is now, however, six bucks. If I don't join mtracks and pick it up there, I'll probably get it on emu eventually. It's a close second to Filtros.
Way to go, fight the power!!!
Not sure. I didn't show up for class much.
Guh.
That is what ultimately caused me to stop posting over there
And continues to make me not miss it.
There used to be music lovers that could lead you to new worthwhile music now its just mostly pissin and moanin
In a related sort of way I've been wrestling with the issue of do I continue to : expand my Lists, do reviews/warnings, post recs, etc. when I'm so disgruntled as a customer? Does not participating in those ways punish the company - yeah, I know, like they care - or punish other potential music lovers? Basically for me the excitement of sharing music that turns me on is one of the great things about music, and ultimately I think transcends the vagaries of eMusic's business practices. Let me not forget the excitement of finding a great deal. I've been tempted a few times in recent years to delete my Lists but I figure screw them I put them there for other people in the first place not the benefit of the company.
But I think you're right to leave the lists intact for all the reasons you mention above.
I left all of my lists intact and never really considered terminating them. It was never about the company benefiting. It was always about leaving bread crumbs for newbs to find their way, as had been done for me to a much lesser extent way before the other place existed.
That said, I don't put any effort into maintaining my lists other than for my own purposes. Also, I only rate music when there is a direct benefit such as free downloads for rating some albums by a certain deadline.
This attitude reflects the damage that has been wrought by the business hamsters that now run the place. You can run a business and still leave a community intact. And it appears to me that they purposely set out to destroy our little community of music nerds.
Mission accomplished
Excellent Christmas Album BTW
When I joined, it was because of the phenomenal price at the time. I stayed past the trial (geek who actually read the terms) when after 30 minutes of looking at some one-hit wonder stuff I was browsing, I saw reviews by members that directed me to other things, and found the discussions board.
In my case, your not posting would have hurt emusic. I would have suffered no harm in not finding some great music on their site. My life would not be as full of music had I not met the recommendations of emusic customers at the time. I'd been flitting about on various music boards. I'm still pissed I didn't find it earlier. Today? Yawn. The message board is pearls before swine.
Yeah, I'm a piggie.
My advice is leave your lists and detritus there, as you move onto more fertile music exploration sites. That are not tied to a business model that's doomed.
You go, guy!
Wandy didn't post back....yet
He doesn't dare. Without a good rec
