This was free at Bandcamp a while back - they gave away a free track a day for 25 days. (It's still free as a whole 'album'). To my ear this band can veer between some quite nice, atmospheric instrumental pieces (and a few really fine moments) to rather thin elevator muzak. Am just now sifting through these to see what's worth keeping for another listen.
Amazingly, this is the first time I've ever listened to this album, although of course I've heard some of the songs in other contexts. Damn, this is good.
Since this also temporarily became a weather thread: record high (by an 8 degree margin) of 84 today, maybe 2" of snow tomorrow. Springtime in the Rockies.
Poking around in the New Amsterdam catalog could cost me some money....victoire - Cathedral City is really good, especially if you like Philip Glass. (eMu Link)

A nice little house ep from Amie.
What's the fascination with a girl with a short skirt and a long jacket?

Truly been on a nostalgia kick lately what with all the King Crimson and Yes.
Just completed via Guvera. I was dismissing this one as Beatles-cover schlock until another eMuser pointed out Larry Young on organ.

Thanks Guvera!

This never made it from my old vinyl copy into my digital music existence. Until Guvera gave it me for free.
Straight ahead jazz mixed with heavy metal? Welcome to the world of the Alex Skolnick trio.

Then
Pole. (I notice this can be had for 38 cents plus shipping at Amazon. Definitely worth it.)
- A most wonderful combination of artists. . .

Playing loudly in the hopes that summer suddenly appears.
Still wonderful.

Kurr by Amiina. Saw this band play live a few years back as support for Sigur Ros. Pretty, gentle music.
springtime ---> summertime, means changes in listening habits. had no idea i'd like these two discs so much.
