I have always thought there was an element in Shakira's earlier records (before they started to screw it up trying to force some kind of crossover success) of garage rock and some English Invasion, which in listening to The Roots of Chicha and Back To Peru makes a lot of sense now.
Looking for the album, I found it on Shockhound. They're run by Hot Topic and seem to have a lot of the features we tried to get eMu to add. Anyone have any experience with them?
Deaf Center live in Moscow
Still enjoying this. Seems rather different from Neon City. Brighternow, is Pale Ravine more along these lines? (I notice you reviewed it on eMusic)
@Dr Mutex, seems to be a cross between Amazon and mTracks. First complaint is one that I have about every single online music retailer, "How hard is it to allow people to browse by label?!" ::sigh::
One of my favorite pieces that feels appropriate seeing as the sun is not up yet.

At this point I think there's little doubt that they are, indeed, giants.

From the Guvera giveaway
Yeah, I'd say so, The live contains elements of Pale Ravine but both albums are superb.
- Great guy, has worked with Nels Cline and Celer.
Magnificent !
I was given this and Phil Collins' Going Back as CDs for a Christmas present. Great to listen to in the car on the way to work!

This is my second listen to this Bandcamp freebie. Folk textures with an Eastern European flavor. Good enough to keep on the HD.
Not sure who rec'ed Natacha Atlas, but her music is beautiful, as opposed to this album cover.
Loving the Surf washed out Dub vibe.
It's short, (and free) so listen twice (at least). Thanks Brighternow.
Very nice. (and free). Thanks Bad Thoughts.
Thanks Guvera.
