I have always thought there was an element in Shakira's earlier records (before they started to screw it up trying to force some kind of crossover success) of garage rock and some English Invasion, which in listening to The Roots of Chicha and Back To Peru makes a lot of sense now.

One of my favorite pieces that feels appropriate seeing as the sun is not up yet.
This is my second listen to this Bandcamp freebie. Folk textures with an Eastern European flavor. Good enough to keep on the HD.
Not sure who rec'ed Natacha Atlas, but her music is beautiful, as opposed to this album cover.
