Germanprof:
The "Avebell Blues" song is sort of post/rest/errata - avebell EPs.
It has a funny (?!) story: this weekend i started to work remixing smth. and suddenly i remembered that Gary Moore died recently
so i wanted to make sort of obituary but not in the conventional "classic" blues style. Thats how this little song was born.
I imagined the zombie me from Avebell - singing an obituary for Gary Moore (RIP) in a dark dark public Avebell Square.
I made it abstract ( on lyrics ) and short because i felt that a long bla-bla obituary is quite a shame to preach.
Agree with the others. I like the track. I think it goes at the end of side 1 of an album that doesn't quite exist yet, at least in this world. I'm also with Brighternow on "two mechanical snowghosts". The first time through it made me look at my iPod to see what track it was.
This remix will be featured in VA Buzz Remixes. But the compilation is delayed indefinitely so i will share it with you.
( you can check the original there too ) Original is more like circus music - ours is more like submarine epic battles
sooo - you asked for it !
love it or hate it - it was fun making it ))
here we go: the silly part of Makunouchi Bento ! ( and no shame
"Like A Monkey Without the Cuckoo Clock" is a journey through the inner mental patient mindscape of the Jebel Chamber Orchestra, expressed in acoustic honks, bonks, scrapes, and screams, and other outbursts. Prepared piano, homemade instruments, and garbled screams collide to tell the story of our crazy joyful Jebel monkey.

She also did integral artwork for our Swim
Thank you for coming by so often to inform us of your music and keeping us up to date on your work. The "ambient" and "eletroacoustic" tags seem too modest to encompass what you do. Is there any chance I might coerce you into describing more of your aesthetic? Two things always seem striking about your recordings: nostalgia and dualism.
First, nostalgia always fits into the music in terms of the technology that you use, certain textures (like the accordion), and the old time radio textures. Is there something more? It seems like you aren't just trying to "antique" the music, but you are trying to say something about the last century of mass culture and (maybe also) politics.
Second, it seems that two (or more) soundtracks are always competing with one another in the same track. Different ways of describing an urban soundscape appear side by side. They obviously intend to describe the same things, but always in different, sometime contradictory manner. How do you and your partner work?
I will unfold other answers / ideas when i'll have some (more) time.
Sometimes i dont feel like talking, exposing and explaining the concepts because music should speak for itself.
We really dont like the new trends in arts where everything must have a big written/explained concept.
( and most of the times the concept is great but the art piece is not )

Yes, yes, yes. I've felt this way ever since art school where everybody seemed to be much more focused on learning how to talk about things than on actually creating things. I blame the Dada'ists, or more accurately I blame the art world's reaction to the Dada'ists.
Hauntology was not a term I am directly familiar with (though I have read Spectre of Marx). The reference to Derrida (rather than, say, Nora or Ricoeur) says a lot.
After listening to a few more of these things, I have to say that my favorite thing about this music is the sense of characters I get from it, which is very strong for non-vocal music. I continually feel as if these sounds are actually little characters singing to me - I especially see the things on the cover of Swime. Of course maybe it's just this cold and slight fever I've had for a few days... but really it sounds very human for electronic instrumental music. Great work.
thanks amclark2. i'm happy that you apreciate the mojo of our voodoo also good to know that cough syrup amplifies it.:)
and about "silly small restitutions" ...
