Coincidentally, I was in college at that radio station (WBNY) when it started (too many years ago to mention). Next time I go back for a reunion show I'll have to include you in my set!
Well, I guess I'm pretty slow at getting around to all that doing things. That said, I sure want to thank brighternow for introuducing me to makunouchi bento and for thinking about catching my attention. These folks make my ears perk when they come up in the rotation. So, I guess I'd really like to thank higaru for treating me to all those tracks. I'd like you to know that your tunes have been vibrating throughout the garden this year and things are looking pretty good. I've never seen so many finches hanging around here before. -always
Makunouchi Bento was featured in the latest Best of Bandcamp episode broadcast from the coffeeshop Betty, TOO! in Amsterdam!
The whole set is up for download on Soundcloud:
This is the sixth episode of the Best of Bandcamp radio show and podcast presented by Varia, where we play only the best new music from Bandcamp, the service for artists looking to set up their own music store.
confused:
your words gave me joy and sorrow - like a garden at the end of summer.
our music is birds friendly because all we did in last month was extreme bird watching i guess
( i hope we could (really) start something serious this autumn. again ... )
news for music makers:
iDensity is finally out! You can purchase it at AppStore. The best granular synthesizer on iPad, no doubt.
Plus, you can sound like us, because the presets include Makunouchi Bento samples.
errata: we dont earn anything ( $ ) from iDensity project. we just like it and help it grow

made here at job in sort of inter-buildings garden.
we play this wknd in Bucharest and i thought that we need some promo.
It's more than 10 years since the self-release of our first album... and almost 9 since the official release on Retinascan. Enough "shelf time" for this old IDM/electronic gem - now you can enjoy it for free on Bandcamp. See how much our sound has changed over the years... Happy winter holidays!
The first preview for Rinbo (our new EP, due in early 2012) has "leaked"! Thanks to Cosmin TRG, the Makunouchi Bento sound has been heard on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Show. Enjoy!
higaru - I don't know if you've noticed, but a number of us here have started a blog called Music is Good. Would you be willing to be interviewed via email about your music for the blog?
We'd love to help get the word out more about Makunouchi Bento.
I'll do my best to make them unusual, but having me on the clock!?! Don't be mad when all of the questions are a different take on whether you prefer cats or dogs!
Gave that last album you posted, Himette, another good listen at the weekend. There are some great tracks on there, especially in the second half (I was out and about with headphones on, so I have yet to match track titles with sounds :-)). Seems to me as well that in the second half of the album the sound points forward to your later projects more. Thanks again for making it freely available.
cafreema: nooo the chess clock was a (bad) joke.
germanprof: yep - the album shows our old and our new ( actual ) direction. it was posted more for historical reasons
glad to hear you enjoyed it !
