Posted this on 'now listening' thread the other day, thought I'd add it here as I think it's pretty good. If like me you have a soft spot for dubby electronica (the likes of deadbeat, krill.minima, loscil, etc) then this EP is worth a listen. I like tracks 1 and 4 best. Free download from Sgustok.
Maurizio Bianchi - 603... Annus Mundi - [Sinewaves-s3p033 - 2006-03-01]
"Calamitous decomposition for pre-phonometric notes and posty-atonal sonorities, instigated and completed during the end of the sutured era, with the apocalyptic beldning of Sandro Kaiser/Frequency In Cylces Per Second. ''We are sterirely precipitating in rescindable prophecies for the flagellant escathology. The human exegesis has already denounced that cartilaginous judgement. Since the survivorship, the fulfilment is waiting the defeat of the paretic age, but the revulsive times of the placable countdown are the describe in this denouncer work. About the cerebral future of the last climateric drama, the enthroned punishment explores the polite predicitions, creating an artificial intent of pandemic damage. The absurd earth is set for the malefic nowadays, while the fatal date desolately is approaching: '603... annus mundi'!''
- I have no clue what the writer is on about.

Yair Yona - Bootleg #3, for fans of John Fahey. I rec'ed his first two installments of this series, I seem to recall several people enjoyed his music. This time Yona is distributing through the Free Music Archive, there is a link there to his Bandcamp page for the other two Bootleg albums.
Thanks for the Sufi page, some amazing music there. If you find anything else like that please let me know. I prefer the instrumental oud and ney flute material to the vocal. I'll go look at the Dervish page now.
Instrumental, so no gender divulged - the ending only indicates plurality :-) and it shouldn't have been on the free thread - I thought I was still in the listening now thread - will repost there.
beautiful, techni-colored daydreamings mingled with childlike curiosities...The big difference from his Off the Sky project, is the vast
use of guitar melody married with other instrumentations.
Jason Corder side project. Leans more in a folktronica direction than his more laptop-focused offthesky work. Very nice indeed. Free at the archive.
Lucky Bamboo by The Green Kingdom
Played this end to end about four times yesterday. Have had it for ages, and have other things by this artist, but just rediscovered this. Delicate, ethereal electronics with a sense of gentle space. (jonahpwll, I am guessing maybe you might enjoy this, based on FilFla). Really delightful. Free at the archive.
Perhaps too obvious to mention, but several SXSW-type samplers at Amazon, including a new Tunecore one. Still too bad they ate Amie, but they certainly have kept up the Amie tradition of providing a ridiculous number of free Alt/Indie tracks.
Also happened to note that sorting free tracks by release date gives you an interesting sneak preview of what's coming up.
Amazing - many thanks Bad Thoughts. It has taken me 20 minutes to download, now to put into itunes... then several hours to play them all. I'll probably wait for a long car journey coming up soon!
Yes I am familiar with 7 digital thom - I have downloaded some of their special offers on,eg, new release indie bands, but they tend to be generally 50p to £1 more expensive than Amazon UK on many things. Interesting though I could only access the SXSW stuff via the US site. I couldn't find it anywhere on the UK site, but I was able to download from the US site. I'll try that again with any more free tracks. I'll almost certainly not be able to buy, ie use my credit card, on the US site unfortunately.

@jk666 - glad you liked the Sufi page. Organization is not their suit, but the music is great.

Btw cafreema, have you seen this new song from the latest "Baseball Project" album?
Yeah, it got some play up here during the playoffs last year. Craig Finn rules.
