This is built up as the track progresses. One of the Amazon reviewers didn't like the lead up to about the 9-minute mark where the main elements of the track begin to be established. There isn't much Kalimba until after the 13 minute mark, although I think some of the earlier sound is processed Kalimba. Also, as far as I know, this review is the most information about this piece that's on the internet. The artist is "0" and the label is "imputor?". There's a lot of interesting-looking stuff there that I'll be exploring.
Nice free sampler from Autoplate netlabel. Names like Marsen Jules, krill.minima, Off The Sky and Mitchell Akiyama signal the territory. Some really very good stuff of a generally peaceful nature, though with more anguished moments here and there.
The contributors for this compilation are coming from different areas - there're reknown Autoplate artists, such as Gultskra Artikler, Off The Sky, Tlon and Marsen Jules; while Silent Q (=Paul Keeley), Lufth and krill.minima use to release on Thinner. Guests are coming from Komplott Sweden (Hans Appelqvist & Osso Bucco) and from Tomlab Germany (Flim, Novisad). Not forgetting to mention: Mitchell Akiyama, Konrad Bayer, I.R.A. and Roland Fiege & DFO.
The compilation starts with the closing doors of "Subways", and a molecular-urban Tlon Dub unwraps and melts wihin one of the underground intake air shafts of Montr
I recently learned that you can download the 2008 Springhouse reunion album, From Now to OK, as 160kbps MP3 files from the band's very own website. It's a very good album and not available on eMu, Amazon.com or iTunes.
ETA: and this one too . . . . "For their first No Type release, Milliseconde topographie (the duo of composers Nicolas Bernier and Delphine Measroch), presents two somber and moody tracks, balancing between delicate electronic textures and opulent acoustic instrumentations."

This is a new version of Paste Magazine, free until September. "each weekly issue of the mPlayer will sell for 99 cents per issue or $36 for a yearly (48-issue) subscription." They promise a iOS and Android version soon.
Essentially, a 7 song Paste sampler every week. This week includes the Low Anthem, the Decemberists, Bright Eyes, Over the Rhine, Dawes, Rye Rye, Yuck, Suzanne Vega and a couple more. Both samples I dloaded were 320K, although I think I already own the more interesting titles in this week's mix. There are a number of videos too, including 1981 U2, I will Follow.
I like what I see, but I am not sure I am in for $36 a year, especially if the samples are the same as the freebies on Amazon, eMu, etc.
Since I was praising the Civil Wars on another thread, I thought I would point out that Noisetrade has a Live set at Eddie's Attic available for the price of an email. You can leave a tip, if you want to.
@craig - That was my first choice. But I was thinking I might grab something like Death Cab instead because I think W H O K I L L is worth 5 bucks (only held off on it because I debated about getting it on vinyl). "Bizness" is one of the best songs this year.

@Doofy - Thanks for the heads up, I didn't even look at the expiration date. Better pick out a $5 album I want for $3.

Free from Afternoon Records: Night Moves - Colored Emotions.
Kind of a folkified dream pop/chillwave. Pretty darn enjoyable and certainly worth the price.
