Status update:
Domain is registered (.org). It can take a day or two for the name to propagate to all the DNS servers, but it's usually a few hours.
I will get WordPress installed later today.
Anyone care to propose a WordPress Theme? This is not a momentous decision. The theme's easily changed. If there are no nominations I will install Frog.
I'd like a few volunteers for WordPress Admins. The main thing I expect they would need to do is nuke spam in comments and create new users who are allowed to post. I also need one person to have the spare keys to the kingdom in case I'm not available. Someone who uses DreamHost would be ideal, but anyone who's dealt with LAMP should have no problems.
Frog works for me. Since I was nominated as an editor and I didn't hear any rabble rousing (although I know how jonahpwll loves his whispered messages, so I may have missed it) put me down as an Admin. My wife has used WordPress so I can make her show me how to do those two tasks.
I could do that, if you want - I've got a few years of experience as a WordPress admin, and I'm quite good at finding/fixing spelling errors and such, though I'm not sure I'd have time to check in every day. (Every other day, maybe.) And of course, my knowledge of recent obscure shoegaze and dreampop releases is practically comprehensive.
I also know my way around CPanel pretty well, and especially MySQL, but I don't currently use DreamHost.
I'd be willing to volunteer for the task of daily (or twice-daily) spam killer. I already do that for AAJ, so it wouldn't be difficult to fold the emusers task into the existing AAJ one.
At the moment, I have no experience with Wordpress, but I can't envisage a scenario where spam killing on that platform would be something that I couldn't pick up easily.
By the way, I'm not sure I agree with your assessment that all the regular members of emusers have inferior music tastes to that of your own, nor do I agree with your unnecessarily cruel opinion that they also smell intolerably of eau-de-MichaelBolton. It's a good thing we're whispering this conversation, because if it got out how little you think of your fellow board members, you'd have an angry mob outside your door in no time at all. Also, your fixation on the sex lives of newspaper vendors falls under the category of TMI.

It's up there on the web!!
Tomorrow I'll start creating accounts. I'll send them via email so check that your email is up to date.
I doubt we'll have a spam problem. I've installed reCAPTCHA on the comments. People with accounts won't have to solve them.
edit: Nobody that volunteered has email set. I've whispered to all.
OK. Now is the time to speak up if you want to write. Admins will have that automatically.
