BN - I've played a few of the tracks but not the whole album for ages. I'm deciding which of the two to recommend to a friend - see another thread I'm about to start. Both are really good in my view!
Steven Bernstein's Millennial Territory Orchestra - MTO Plays Sly
Jazzified covers of Sly with guest vocalists on some tracks, but others all instrumental. jonahpwll, if you haven't heard this you need to check it out and tell me what you think.
"If you enjoy the aleatoric side of the recent 12k aesthetic (albums like Taylor Deupree's Shoals or Jodi Cave's For Myria) you'll enjoy this, though it foregrounds actual instruments much more - a soft and really rather melodic floating sea of small sounds over a bed of haze, a little guitar here, a field recording there... Quite delightful. One track has some spoken word overlaid (Japanese poetry), and that too is tastefully done."

- In it's finest moments it's up there with the best artists in the electroacustic genre, - (Dare I mention Brian Eno ? - well... jut did) 10 minutes preview @ Soundcloud
You are very welcome. Glad you found time to spend with this. It is indeed a gem, and well placed on my best of year list as well. Might just have to listen to it now as I walk home from the office.

- Thank you very much Sir GP !
One of Jonah's Jazz Picks on 17Dots this week. It is only 4 tracks long for 70 minutes, so good value this side of the Atlantic (£1.68)
