Much as I like his music at times, I find I can only take Steve Wilson's morbid take on the world in limited doses. But he has written some fine lyrics and fine music to go with them.
BigD-Bluez, I second that on Thompson's Semi-Detached Mock Tudor. One of my favorite albums. The studio Mock Tudor is also excellent.
Denver, Jackie Leven died?!?!?!? I didn't know that. So sad to learn. I was hoping for a new album from him. He's one of my all-time most favorite artists, and he was criminally under-appreciated. Such a talent! I had been thinking I would write a blog piece about his music on Music is Good sometime.
After the incident, McCarthy said that M.I.A. had not done anything similar during rehearsals and the league had no reason to believe she would pull something like that during the actual show.
Anybody who spent 5 minutes looking her up on google would've only been surprised that was all she did.
In an email from Best Buy: "learn how we innovated the way you buy mobile phones." Sigh. Another intransitive verb bites the dust courtesy of advertising.
You know you are out of it when you don't realize until you read the paper the next day that (a) there was a finger or (b) the other people cavorting alongside Madonna were "stars."
I did recognize Cee-Lo! Then I was like, why have him out there unless you're going to let him sing? Then I saw the subsequent ad, which answered my question.
WMRI was an Amiestreet stalwart trading in ethereal ambient drones. There was a lot of it, and for free. Some of it is really rather nice, and I've found myself returning to this one, which is very relaxing and I see can still be had freely from Jamendo (linked from image).
As discussed on the eMu board recently. Great 3-for-1 all-star set. Still digesting, and it certainly has some of the lack of focus typical of all-star sessions. But a unique opportunity to hear these heavyweights, including a lot of old beboppers alongside the young lions of the 60s, stretch out on long concert takes.

Second album purchase by Molvaer due to that one free track from Baboon Moon on AAJ.

Currently on to track 3 - Good and Plenty. Parts of this track (one theme) remind me of Peaches and Regalia from Frank Zappa's Hot Rats
