  • This may be old news to many of you, but Wilco just released a new album on Friday called "Star Wars"...and it's free on google play (actually, I think you can get it free from Wilco's website, too).

Haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but it's pretty raw and good.

Speaking of Friday, remember the good ol days when music was released on Tuesdays?
  • Re: The Good Old Days": I was never was much into following/tracking/remembering 'release' dates..... until I got sucked in by Amie Street (RIP) [back in the day]... I wasted so many Monday Late-Nite and Tuesday early-monring just pegged to their website, with multiple tabs opened for different albums that were to be released... as well as their 'just dropped list' ... constantly refreshing aiming to get get deals on 'good' stuff that would eventuallly net me some additional AmieStreet coinage to spend on even more stuff..... even with the 50% Sony discount I probably spend more $ on Amie Street than any other website to this date.  I miss that model...[insert comments]

TL;DR: I would waste so much time getting music on Tuesdays [12:01 am+] that my effectiveness at work suffered severely for that particular time frame.

So I thought I read some old [?] article only a couple days ago....that new releases are now on Friday instead of Tuesday
  • Luddite, I'm with you on Amie Street.  I miss that place.  Between the recs that turned into store credits, and the half off sales, and the stuff that started off free or super cheap, I downloaded a ton of music off that site.  My Amie Street playlist has 6,200 songs.  I still haven't listened to all of them.  Those were the days....
  • The best Amie Street day was when they added the entire Beggar's Banquet catalog all at once. I had to open a second account on Amie Street because I exceeded my maximum downloads on my primary account.
