Erik Wøllo's WINTER TIDE is name-your-price though Friday. If you're thinking of grabbing a copy, make your move! ottis41 writes: "This is a great piece of work, the art of sound on sound, it flows it turns around and it glides. Silky smooth. I remember seeing it live and it blew me away then and still dose now."
Thanks to everyone who got behind our 10 year anniversary sale a couple of weeks back.
We're reprising this discount until end of August for anyone who missed out. Apply the code SUMMER50 at checkout for 50% off all digital orders and our remaining physical editions from Landtitles, James Murray, Ian Hawgood, Gri + Mosconi, Neotropic & Anne Garner.
Today we offer our biggest ever sale for Bandcamp Friday. There are a few important announcements in this message so do read on.
First: don't miss out on our new release by Nikki Sheth which roves "From the palm-strewn banks of the Limpopo River to the dark depths of the Hippo Pool".
Second: All CDs are reduced to $5-$7, some absolute bargains there. You can pre-order the new one by Corder & Yantis for today only for $7. Usually our CDs are $12-$14. All tapes $6.
We also offer three pay what you want releases: Arash Akbari's top selling Vanishing Point, Valiska and Zenjungle's A Changing Light, which contains Nightwinds one of the best pieces ever released on FP, and Corder Ritger and Yantis' Possession to celebrate Corder & Yantis's new album.
FINAL DAY EVER TO BUY OUR HANDMADE CDS. We also have an announcement on our handmade CDs, these will be available for purchase for the last day ever today. You which titles are handmade marked in merch, this includes all our three inch releases. All are marked down to $5. From tomorrow these will be moved to sold out and no longer available. This is because I no longer have the time to make these items, so I give you this last opportunity to get any you might want.
Finally we offer this sale as we clear out some room for a very busy period ahead for FP. Over the coming year we will be releasing 1-2 albums per month, so if you are considering a subscription now is a good time
ETA: the three NYOP releases are free, no email necessary.
It's been quite a while since last time that we took part in this Bandcamp Friday madness, but well, for today our digital discography costs $7 only (for 59 releases).
We are also continuing our Bandcamp Friday tradition of making all Sahel Sounds digital releases available as Name Your Price downloads for 24 hours. You can visit our Bandcamp page at sahelsounds.bandcamp.com
On the first Friday of every month since March of 2020, Bandcamp has waived their revenue share to help support the many artists who have seen their livelihoods disrupted by the pandemic. Take advantage of discounts today only including 30% off all our digital downloads, and 30% off our physical Live From Austin, TX titles.
To celebrate the release of The Diver, Lyonel Bauchet’s first album on DiN, The Secret Society (DiNDDL11), has been set as a “name your price” download until the end of September.
Progarchives says "One of the premier bands to feature on the Canterbury scene, GILGAMESH was led by the extraordinary keyboardist Alan Gowen, before his premature death. The music is very intricate, and of course keyboard oriented."
Most of it is labels/artists that I have bought from and/or follow on bandcamp and get email notifications from. Sometimes I stumble across them while in bandcamp free fall. I usually use the
I'm really going to dig into this question about how to get info about deals (from emails and elsewhere). One thing I've noticed is that you can "follow" the collections of Bandcamp fans. Do you make your FAN PROFILE public? Mine is here: https://bandcamp.com/idiotprogrammer and omnifoo is here: https://bandcamp.com/omnifoo
BTW, when you download a free album (as opposed to "purchasing" a Name Your Price album for more than 0), it becomes part of your collection. I've downloaded lots of free things which don't show up in the bandcamp app for that reason.
One reason I care about this question is that I'm extremely budget-conscious. It's very rare that I would pay more than $5 for anything.
Update: I've noticed that bandcamp allows you to make annotations about albums you buy NYP. I'm going to start doing that as well. Look how this uberfan does it https://bandcamp.com/oddiooverplay

Yes, you can follow me at https://bandcamp.com/manwithears - just followed yours. It’s worth selectively following folk for the bandcamp emails that give a roundup of what those you follow have purchased - another source of finds.
You can annotate any album you paid anything for - those show up as reviews on the album page, but also appear as notes in your collection.
The key thing is to get on label or artist mailing lists by paying at least a dollar or providing an email for a download. I find that many of the smaller labels run regular discounts and are pretty good at communicating about it. Of course there’s a cumulative effect where the more things you’ve bought the more you get to find out about which might not always be a good thing for us addicts…but looking at your profile you are actually following more folk than I am. Maybe some of the ones I follow are just having more sales? Neotantra are particularly prolific.
Pretty much everything Germanprof has said. If you end up following people with your taste and they end up being big spenders, then you can easily find yourself in BIG trouble - LOL! Sometimes, when I get a weekly email from BC showing the purchases by my favorites, it can sometimes encompass 100+ new titles that I feel compelled to listen to. BC Anonymous anyone? Also, weekly (or more!) updates from BC itself adds to the mental weight of new things to discover… Oh! Then, if you’re really a glutton for punishment, you click on the avatars of the people who bought your favorite album(s) and see what else they’re listening to … and so on…
@rostasi and @Germanprof have watched your exchange with interest. Would appreciate your advice on who would be good to follow on Bandcamp bearing in mind my love of Prog Rock.
