- "Blissful garland of nice matured clouds and fresh snowfalls assebmled by Doyeq and their pocket orchestra. Silent harbour surrounded by shaded lanterns and paper rustle is prepared for your visit. Our winged train brings you there, no ticket required. Point down your eyelashes and enjoy the stay"
well, amy winehouse was pretty, before drugs ruined her. but that cover isn't designed to be hot. not really sure what that cover's designed to do. amy winehouse had some great albums, but not great album covers.
We certainly agree on that Daniel. I'm playing the whole repetoire today
Talking about female singers, Lana del Rey was on The Voice last night promoting her latest single. Virtually all the contestants left, IMO, are better singers and some considerably so. She did herself no favours at all
guilty confession: i like lana del rey's lynch-ian vibe, if not always her songs. christopher winegarden (of spin) wrote a long piece recently about the steady -- and growing -- population of singers who trade in that david-lynch eerie vibe. i'm all for it.
BC streaming, from the vibrant Experimental/Avantgarde scene in Santiago / Chile:
Thanatoloop - Mar Ebrio
- April 15, 2012. After a handful of virtually unheard of self-releases over the last 15 years, Thanatoloop has granted us the opportunity to release his newest collection of aural madness. Michel Leroy, also the front man of both Un Fest
These free compilations are appearing at such a rate in these genres during the past year or so (I reckon I've got at least 30 hours of them from the last year alone) that they are in danger of leaving the dedicated listener with no time or need to actually buy the artists' full releases. This one ranges from the pleasant to the thought-provoking to the slightly unpleasant to the odd.
ETA: and a search confirms that thanks are due to Brighternow - thanks!

Love it.
Last Days-Safety of the North
- Excellent "deep dub" (if such a genre exists) - Great find, GP - Thank you very much . . .
Newest from Quebecois super-group Vent du Nord -- "streaming" from website.

Another nice free one from Daniel Maze.
this song is so badass. all 70s tough, bizzaro-mystic, and soulful.
Sorry Daniel, but my cover cannot compete!
