Greg: yes, I like this. I think it overreaches in a few places, like the second track (brass sounds great, but lyrics are too broken up) and the one that sounds like Haircut 100. Also, a few tracks sound more like the next Blackbeard's Tea Party album. Nevertheless, this is getting daily play in the car.
I hope your move isn't too stressful, and congrats on the new home.
Busy time at work, lots of driving around to observe student teachers in the classroom this week and next week, but an opportunity to listen to music in the car. Today's choice has been a double CD
Between the short work week last week and limited iPod reloading time over the holiday, I am way behind on retagging, loading and listening to all my Guvera stuff. Although it's hard to say that having too much free legal music is a problem...
From the free albums from Innova (there's more Fred Ho @ the classical N&N thread) The Ensemble is:
BOBBY ZANKEL (alto saxophone)
Salim Washington (tenor saxophone)
ROYAL HARTIGAN (multiple percussion)
ART HIRAHARA (keyboards)

Via Guvera. Quite remarkable modern classical, some occasional creative use of an electric guitar.
Gunshae - The Lost Cascadian Suite
This has some misses but also some excellent tracks on it, including some nice jazz instrumentals. Free Noisetrade sampler.
ETA: Intriguing but also a little bit boring. Maybe at another time and place . . .

Call this Roots Samba?
I found an interesting commentary on the song Zumbi.
Now playing
Several albums by Arthur H, reputed to be the French Tom Waits. The comparison is apt on his 1990s albums: gruff voice, a little jazier.

Spelled backwards is Arevug.
This is the one with Jan Hammer on organ, really like it.
Edward Ka-Spel & The Silverman - Circle the Sun and you become One . . . . .
I have lots of recordings with Hassell as well as Possible Musics, otherwise I haven't heard one of his albums. Earthier than what he did with E'G.

(Maybe we should rename the board emuseras? With apologies to those in future markets :-))
Not from Guvera! Inspired by the Paste list.
Never made the connection between Micus and Dead Can Dance until today.
Thanks Lowlife

I don't consider Micus my thing, but right now, this is very satisfying.
