Bernier's stuff is consistently good. I'm tempted tow rite about this/Bernier for MiG. This kind of stuff tends to attract to-me-pretentious-sounding reviews full of stuff about psychoacoustics. I wouldn't know how to/particularly want to do that, but it might be interesting to try to just write about how it sounds. We'll see how time goes as the new semester looms.
@Lowlife - so what do you think about Lou Rhodes "Beloved One"? I downloaded it several years back when I was still a member of emusic. I think some of the tracks are outstanding.
Kez, its a great album but I think the 2nd one Bloom is better. I loved her voice when she was in Lamb but it was not until I saw her on a TV show that I appreciated her more folky sound. She has released one more but it sounded a bit more dirgy than the others, not doubt if I see it cheaply or in a charity shop might just bit it up
Just arrived from Berlin wrapped in a German newspaper. I am pumped to finally get my hands on a copy of this Nicolas Bernier release, which was originally vinyl only but then had a very limited European CD release. I am also a little bemused to find that the packaging is a CD in a paper CD envelope inside the full size vinyl LP sleeve. On the one hand it is very attractive. On the other hand all my storage is for CD-sized objects, so I am not sure yet exactly how I will store it.
