When I was a kid I used to watch that dude on TV on Saturday afternoons, mostly because wasn't shit else on. Hey we didn't have You Tube, or the internet or cable TV for that matter so we had to go with the 4 broadcast stations.
I always found him soothing and calming for some reason. And I was always was fascinated how he seemed to literally pull this beautiful painting out of his backside simply by dabbing a little paint on the canvas.
He says pitcher instead of picture. hehehe
Didn't he have another life as a hard core rocker in some band or something.before he became the Public television paint guy.
"William K. Heine presented a paper entitled A Laser Scanning Phonograph Record Player to the 57th Audio Engineering Society (AES) convention in May 1977. The paper details a method developed by Heine that employs a single 2.2 mW Helium–neon laser for both tracking a record groove and reproducing the stereo audio of a phonograph in real time. In development since 1972, the working prototype was named the "LASERPHONE" and the methods it used for playback was awarded U.S. Patent 3,992,593 on 16 November 1976.[1] Heine concluded in his paper that he hoped his work would increase interest in using lasers for phonographic playback."
OMG. How did I browse across this.....thing? My mind is scrambled. I think thanks to eMu's wacky listings these days it was on the Michael Schenker page so I investigated. Did I already say OMG? Look who is posted at the bottom of the comments on there...... Captain Bill searches for Major Tom, with a couple of extras, would you believe Iron Man. The rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody is beyond words. It's so wack I might have to go back for a song or two, just so posterity can believe. http://www.emusic.com/album/william-shatner/seeking-major-tom/12805130/
I confess. I downloaded both Iron Man and Bohemian Rhapsody. How is it that something can be so terrible and yet fascinating that you have to have it. Help me, Obi-Wan, you're my only hope.
Yes, reggae would make emu sense :-). The Amazon equizalent is putting anything of electronic origin - ambient, drone, etc. - under "Dance & DJ" though they seem to be going for "Dance & Electronic" now. Anyone downloading this, say, for a dance party would be pretty disappointed and in for some radical immobility.
This album from Jimmy's poppy late-60s Verve output is a pretty good one, but good golly that's a strange cover photo. Did the wolf mask somehow modify or mollify the reality of a black male artist holding hands with a white female model? Oh well, I suppose it's not the strangest album art to come out of the 1960s...
Hmmm ? I guess it's his mere existance that causes the WTF. and it explains how most people in our part of the world sees him. - But it wasn't one of my brightest ideas to post it, so I deleted it.

Sheesh! When you think you've seen everything!
I'd imagine that the pain would have to be so excruciating that you'd just have to grin and parrot!
Man cuts off his ears to look like a parrot

NEW LASER TURNTABLE PLAYS YOUR RECORDS WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING THEM

With the smallness and cheapness of lasers now though, I can't imagine any reason it would cost $15k
I'd rather spend $4,000 and get a home record cutter:

William Shatner - Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen cover)
Iron Man (Black Sabbath cover)
Priceless !
That would be cool enough just by itself, but they brought out Aretha Franklin to do solo piano and vocals and as expected she ripped it up.
On intermission now but they usually save the best for last
This link should get you there
oops wrong thread
I think Amazon misplaced the Balkans.

Thanks for making me think.
So it made sense as is.
Sorry, I didn't make it clear.
