Like a cross between Florence and Glasser...
  • Is it as good as their last album, thom? Haven't had a chance to download the drip yet.

@craig - I never even heard of Austra until they showed up on drip. I really like the album - not quite as good as Glasser but draws me in more than Florence :) . I'll have to check out the first one.

I've been obsessing on Dizzy lately, Soul Essentials is a pretty decent "hits" collection, $6.49 at eMu, 212+ minutes of music.
  • Definitely check it out, thom. "The Beat and the Pulse" in particular, is a phenomenal track.

    - "The belgian (although quite international) band 48 Cameras is not so very well known and as a matter of fact : that's partly our fault too... Time to change things and to run in... Some time ago the label Transonic released the 48 Cameras album '"Right North", She Said' and on this very moment the group is working on their new album 'We Could Bring Silk in May'. Kind of sandwiched between we do find this long and dark soundscape with the po

    Kanye West - Yeezus

I like the music for the most part...

This is my current favourite recent purchase - charting in the UK and available on emusic!
  • thom - It's as harsh and twisted an album as I can remember, both musically and lyrically. I read a review (yesterday?) that said it's like a purge before becoming a father. I can actually kind of see that. It seems every expectant dad goes through a purge of a sort, but Kanye just takes it to an extreme (like he does everything). One thing I like about the album, is that Kanye himself comes off as the villain in the stories. Too often when lyrics are misogynistic, the narrator is presented as the playa hero, but here he comes of as pure evil.
