The first volume of this can be purchased for $0.99 as part of this big box.
It may not be one of the best recordings (at least the lists I have found don't mention it), but to my untutored ear it's quite enjoyable, and I discovered yesterday that it is quite doable to leave it on repeat for four hours while reading on a plane.
    Ugh, jetlag.
ETA right now I have this scary feeling about the Bach piano stuff, like it would be possible to fall over the edge and get lost in there and just ignore all my other music.

One of the commenters on a review site pointed out that while the Dead we're playing this show, Phillippe Petit and crew were busy breaking in to the World Trade Center, and preparing for his August 7 1974 walk between the towers.

Hmmm, this is not really working for me.
  • I've been at meetings for much of the day. Travelling to, from and between I've been playing Van Morrison on my ipod in the car - mainly a playlist of my favourite tracks. Back home now playing Moondance
  • Raime - Quarter Turns Over A Living Line

Talking about Phillippe Petit made me think of this album title.

  • Beck - Morning Phase

I don't know if it's really album of the year, but it's reaction to Kanye of the year.
  • I just finished Morning Phase as well. Kanye's the best.

  • Sco-Mule by Gov't Mule with John Scofield. Hot stuff recorded live by the original Mule. The dummies at eMu took their time getting this ( I thought maybe it was a sign of their imminent demise since they had Dark Side Of The Mule up at release time) so I coughed up the ten-spot for the CD and Auto-Rip at Amazon but well worth it even with a couple of songs repeated at the different shows.
  • Aagh, how can I have Taylor Swift playing in my head? I think I have only ever heard the song once or twice!
