Given up on them since we were called legacy supporters by Levy been watching my football for the last 4 years down at Haringey Borough FC, a community club and a good non league team. Help out with volunteer work. We have some celebritys who come Bernard Butler, Bob Stanley and some musicians who are in ATV, Swell Maps and other cult bands. Saying that my brother in law has got me some freebies for Thursday so will trek down to take in the stadium but its not the be and end all anymore for me.
Well, the article is a bit superfluous now since it’s over 4 years old, but as long as I’ve been using their software (close to 20 years and over 3 million “scrobbles” now), the social part was not something I ever used except to drop a comment or two in someone’s shoutbox.
Looking forward to our owl friends. I was checking this last week and was kinda surprised that they are waiting for the first egg to show. This hadn't been the case before, but, OK, they have their reasons, I suppose.
Epic Games might, eventually, go for an IPO. It will happen eventually and that will be a big game changer (no pun intended) for BC. It’ll enter the world where shareholders will want share appreciation and/or dividend return, which means, they won’t give a rat’s ass about the creative artist. It’s all about the profits baby!
Yep, especially since we know that BC's cut is pretty modest (10% still?). If future revenue plans start cutting into artists' share, Bandcamp won't be what it was anymore
mmmmm, that does not sound too healthy, having worked for a short time in video and gambling companies it seems all is good in the short term but this is not a charity and will want something back. For the larger independents there is a lot of mileage to be had, for the smaller or indecent musicians if they raise the cut that Bandcamp want then you could see them leaving in droves. Also now the model has been shown to work will not another group copy it, lets face it , it is just a distribution company with the added feature of being able to sample the goods before buying. And remember what happened to E music when the tech people came in. Bit upset by this as I really like the model and the ethics behind it
^^^ It's such a great way to pass the time as the snow melts here and it gets dry enough to move around in the garden. The first on the first - how fitting. We've been watching as it had been trying to break free and so much earlier than last year.
Musicians
from Bob Geldof to Robbie Williams and Lisa Maffia reveal what they did
– and how they felt – after the hits dried up and the crowds vanished
In her classic memoir, Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys, Viv Albertine recounts not only the time she spent as a punk during the 1970s in her pioneering band the Slits, but also documents her life after
the band had ended. This is unusual. Most music books don’t venture
into this territory, tending to stop when the hits stop, thereby drawing
a veil over what happens next. The unspoken suggestion seems to be
that, were it to continue, the story would descend helplessly into
misery memoir.
The view from my office window has greatly improved these last two months a garden and then a field in Orkney rather than a South London street, BUT it isn't quite as stunning as that!

Shows what happens if you get one of the Invincibles as your manager!

Epic Games Acquires Bandcamp as ‘Fortnite’ Maker Expands Into Music
Yep already folk saying that's the end of Bandcamp for them. Excuse the ignorance but is there something particularly bad about Epic Games?
