There's this great thing that happens sometimes when I'm walking to work and a particular album perfectly tunes in to my state of mind and the weather and the feel of life at that precise moment. Today this was that album.
it's so weird things like this, that get a little bit of press, and really it is a great listen, and then just disappear beneath the accumulating weight of the internet. This barely seems to exist any more, and it's only from 2011. Where will it be in 5 years? In 10? But there it was, on my terabyte hard drive, as I scrolled through looking for something else. Fringe music in the internet age really creates strange situations.
For the third time in two days. I really am enjoying this a lot more now than last time I listened to this, (around 9 years ago). Next I have to pull out and refresh Landing On Water. I think I owe my recent Neil Young fixation to the Chromatics, because of the cover, and because of the new wavey type sounds.
Following up Bird is the Worm/emusic board/here recs.
ETA, liking this more than I expected. That might seem an odd thing to say with all the recs, but while I have found lots of great stuff lurking in @jonahpwll 's lists, it has happened regularly enough that jonahpwll's number one pick is somewhere just to one side of my tastes that I have ended up kind of expecting that I'll find the one I really like somewhere further down the list. This is good stuff though, despite being a Pick of the Week :-).
Thanks for the heads up with this one. Paniagua is completely new to me.32 albums at Emusic and about as many to try before you buy on Spotify. Is he the Stephan Micus of Mediaeval music possibly?

Nice discovery - think Pentangle meets Tim Buckley!
