Still on eMusic
I am still finding some good albums and tracks on eMusic, albeit that they are much harder to find! So I thought that this might make an interesting topic.
My first contribution is "Explosions in the Sky", one of the top modern progressive rock groups. I saw them live a few months back and they were outstanding. "All of the Sudden I Miss Everyone" is one of their best albums and is on eMusic together with 4 of their other albums.

Great band and there's 2 albums I need to grab.
Many years ago I got an email from a music friend with "I saw Explotions in the Sky !" in the subject line and I remember me wondering what kind of illegal substances he had for breakfast.
Chipping in with:
ETA:
Borne from a deep love of analogue synthesizers and inspired by the likes of Manuel Gottching, Tangerine Dream’s early albums and Bowie’s Berlin period, ‘Not Bleeding Red’ is an album that fully deserves its place in the long and distinguished history of European synth acts. . . .
Another one from me is "God is an Astronaut". Again one of the top modern progressive rock bands with 8 albums on eMusic. One of the best ones is "Age of the Fifth Sun".

Have a read of the Progarchives write-up. The albums "K.a" and "Retrospektiw I & II"
(both available on eMusic) are amongst the most highly rated prog rock albums on the site.

Well, as I've been going through the alphabet once more, I find the only Albert Collins in my library
were my GarageBand copies of some of my vinyl (which really weren't the best sound). At any rate,
I see that Emusic still has 299 Alligator Records so I've decided to replace some vinyl with a
booster pack starting here with the Ice Man - "The Master of the Telecaster".
1978 - Ice Pickin' 1980 - Frostbite
1981 - Frozen Alive! 1983 Albert Collins And The Icebreakers

* early classics, "Pink Flag", "Chairs Missing" and "154" and;
* the five most recent albums, "Red Barked Tree", "Change Becomes Us", "Wire", "Nocturnal Koreans" and "Silver/Lead"

Good stuff there. But when I clicked the link it showed 31 Wire albums still available. I can particularly recommend the three Read & Burn EPs for .99 cents each.
Julia Kent's new one is not on eMu (US), but The Great Lake Swallows by Julia Kent & Jean D.L., a mere $3.49 for 26 minutes of quiet, beautiful music.
