Reminds me of white T shirts, faded 501 jeans, DM shoes and the Boston Arms in London, was it really 30 years ago. I still have the 501's and they fit!!! Mrs Lowlife has failed in me getting rid
Well, iTunes decided that this should be the first R in my library and I believe it was @rostasi that initiated this exploration from his Random Radio. I did some googling but I didn't find out much. At any rate, I thought I'd start here. A | R | S™ Archer Research Station
This is two and a half hours long and I am on my second listen this afternoon. It is absolutely magnificent. I picked it up in a recent Room40 sale and am just hearing it for the first time. I have enjoyed his other stuff, but this is ... ... WOW. Exceptionally good. Sheer bliss. Stream at the link. I wish I had heard this soon enough to get the CD (sold out). I am downloading the WAV files now.
Finally got to watch Jane Eyre from the National last night which was brilliant, after find out that Spotify links to my Sonos so was up to the early hours playing lots of music. Some early morning music to start the day
John Oswald is best known as the the creator of the Plunderphonics genre, an appropriative form of recording studio creation
which he began
unfolding in the late ’60’s. This got him in trouble with, and also
generated invitations from major record labels and musical icons. In the
early ’90’s he began, with several commissions from the Kronos Quartet,
to compose in what he calls the Rascali Klepitoire.
