I should probably have listened to this when I woke up in the middle of the night but its downtempo IDM / glitch is fine for a sunny South London Sunday morning.
Just Sahib with Phil Woods and Benny Golson on saxes, Art Taylor on bass, Bill Evans or Hank Jones on piano, Paul Chambers or Oscar Pettiford on bass back in 1957, that's all
Several years back I bought a Miles Davis boxed set with 25 CDs from his Columbia days. Some I have played regularly, some hardly at all. This fits into that category
Kaye Loggins from Brooklyn I see young people like this and I get excited by the obvious influences of groups and people who were cutting edge at a time before these performers were even born.
You hear some Michael Rother/Neu influence on the first video and Terry Riley and Laurie Spiegel on the second one. Looking forward to the full album in the spring.
AMG says "laid-back '60s sounds that verged on somnambulant psychedelia, the L.A. band Allah-Las documented the sounds and moods of sunny West Coast days"
American Football s/t album, a great Dream/Post Rock album.
AMG says "Every song here manages to sound meticulously constructed without diminishing the easy, often dreamlike feel of the album. The record is defined by a sense of possibility and youthful discovery, and stands out not just as an anomalistic emo-jazz hybrid but as a lasting, iconic statement"
"Brown Acid - The Thirteenth Trip" released today.
This is the latest edition in an outstanding series of compilations of 1960s/70s Hard Rock, Acid Rock and Heavy Psych available on Bandcamp from RidingEasy Records.
The best ones in the series are The First, Third and Fourth Trips and this, The Thirteenth Trip, has some really good tracks too.
An incredibly mellow fusion of acoustic singer-songwriter jazzy folk where hand percussion sometimes morphs into gentle synths and drum machines. One way ticket to Montevideo please.

Hurrah for Samla / Zamla / Von Zamla! One of the groups I discovered through Recommended Records mail order back in 1980/1.
My favourite album of theirs is "Familjesprickor".
