I loved the first single from this album, managed to snag it for free day of release on Amie, and then forgot about it. Seriously, this is apparently my first listen - nearly three months later.
The Dither Quartet, a New York based electric guitar quartet, is dedicated to an eclectic mix of experimental repertoire which spans composed music, improvisation, and electronic manipulation. Formed in 2007, the quartet has performed in the United States and abroad, presenting new commissions, original compositions, multimedia works, and large guitar ensemble pieces. With sounds ranging from clean pop textures to heavily processed noise, from tight rhythmic unity to cacophonous sound mass; all of The Dither Quartets music wholeheartedly embraces the beautiful, engulfing, and often gloriously loud sound of electric guitars. The quartets members are Taylor Levine, David Linaburg, Joshua Lopes, and James Moore.

Currently really digging the Treasure Isle Story, a double CD I picked up at Amazon for $13.05 last weekend. It's my first real foray into earlier than reggae Jamaican music, which at this price seemed a good alternative to a Treasure Isle comp I've had on a SFL for a while. It reminds me of a radio show, Felix Hernandez's Rhythm Revue, I used to listen to Saturday mornings, except transplanted to Jamaica.
Maybe one of you nice people could explain to this computer dummy how to get that album art on here, it never has worked for me.
@BigD-Bluez - If you're using Chrome or Firefox, it's pretty easy to get the picture by right-clicking on it and selecting "Copy Image Location" or "Copy Image URL". Not sure about other browsers.
Arrgh, I posted to thank you guys before but I must not have hit the right button - Doh! Have to try at home on the desktop later - my antediluvian Mac laptop here can't do right-click. I hear Aretha on my cerebral hard drive all of a sudden.
Elvin Jones looks like he wants to mess someone up really bad, while David Murray bears a striking resemblance to Cleveland on the Family Guy show.....
@Doofy, my daughter lays out the funniest dioramas. I asked her about this one and she said, "Dad. [Exasperated sigh]. T-Rex is like Beast*. He wants to dance with Sleeping Beauty." Before she cleared that up I thought she was making a sophisticated commentary on adolescent gender politics in school sanctioned celebrations.
* Referring to the misunderstood but lovable and temper challenged character from Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

If I'd done a top 15 for 2010, this would have made the list.

At least I'm having fun going through the year in music.

Sure, I picked it up 3 years ago but I feel like an archeologist unearthing a treasure.
