Sept 28 (Reuters) - "Fortnite" maker Epic Games is laying off about 830
employees, or 16% of its staff, and divesting online music platform
Bandcamp, the company said on Thursday.
I hate this..Bandcamp has become my go-to for purchasing music. Hopefully between the new owner and budget tightening, the company will remain solvent.
As I've spent exactly zero minutes using the service this year... Mind you I was thinking just this morning that if I did still use Spotify then following all the musical tips in Gary Giddins book Rhythm-a-ning would be a lot easier.
I'm just enthralled by the beautiful view that the eagle(s) have from their perch too!
Well, as much as we've loved watching the Owls, we've really been enjoying watching the Eagles. Watching the pair tend to the eggs without having to switch back and forth from inside to outside is a real bonus, plus the close-ups. We won't give up on our owls but thanks for introducing us to the eagles. Beautiful view indeed!

watching both here as well. i don't think that at least one of the eagle's eggs is still viable. it's really on the outer edge time wise, but we'll see what happens.
^^We were so absorbed in the nest view I didn't realize there was another camera angle until just this morning. Again... Wow! We've also been doing the math and hope there's a hatch soon.

The first and second eggs are considerably past time with the third very much on the edge. Last year, none of the eggs hatched, but the year before that there was some success. I believe they have become too old to be doing this unfortunately.
The eagle left the nest at 12:38 PM and hasn't returned.
I think they've finally got the message. It's heartbreaking but basically, the eggs have been exposed to prey for nearly 9 hours now.
It's been so sad for us to watch those eagles try to get those eggs to hatch and so inspiring how they just won't quit. I see they returned around dusk and commenced to tend to the eggs. I've really enjoyed putting on the audio to mix in with my other listening. It certainly was quite a wind storm the other night. On the other channel those owlets are sure putting it on. Soon that stash of food in the corner will be at risk.
Just before eclipse day, we went to Austin for a few days to get away. We always like to go visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center where you can roam amidst the aromatic bluebonnets. At the entrance, there's a very public spot where "Athena" - a great horned owl - has made her home to raise her brood every year for well over a decade. We were there just one day before her first egg hatched.
The camera is here and a highlight from yesterday is here.
