."Your Queen is a Reptile" by Caribbean- and Afro-influenced jazz supergroup, Sons of Kemet
AMG says "Led by celebrated saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer Shabaka Hutchings, Sons of Kemet are a political, U.K.-based modern jazz supergroup comprised of musicians from across the globe. Their sound combines modal and free jazz, African rhythms and modes, and Caribbean dub and Middle Eastern timbres, as evidenced by 2018's internationally renowned Your Queen Is a Reptile on Impulse!"
Two Françoise Hardy albums from the opposite ends of her career. "Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles" from 1962 and "Personne D'Autre" from 56 years later in 2018.
The Long Ryders The group was founded by Kentucky born guitarist Sid Griffin(previously of The Unclaimed) with drummer Greg Sowders(formerly of The Boxboys) at a jam session in the notorious ON Klub in Silverlake. The other guitar player was Steve Wynn, who soon left to form The Dream Syndicate, whereupon Virginia’s Stephen McCarthy joined after answering a want ad in a local newspaper. The original bass player was Barry Shank but he quit to return to graduate school and was replaced by ex-pat Englishman Des Brewer. This lineup recorded and released an EP 10-5-60, produced by ex-Sparks guitarist/former The Beach Boysengineer Earle Mankey. A US tour followed. Des Brewer dropped out at this point to continue his career as a longshoreman in San Pedro and was replaced by Indiana’s Tom Stevens (2).
Must have been a short term sale as they're mostly $10 this morning for me.
Thanks for the heads-up @Lowlife! Also picked-up Rays of Darkness in FLAC, both of which were eMu purchases for me. @confused - it looks like it might have only been the stuff released on Pelagic as opposed to Temporary Residence that's NYOP.
Just discovered this on a drive, only my copy has completely the wrong cover. Contains the original of his track Wegene plus 3 mixes the first of which by Prins Thomas has a wonderful loping groove - funny I should get to this after all @confused's Lonnnie Smith posts.

@confused I've only been to the Big Ears festival twice and the first time was 2014 and as I recall I was what I might laughingly refer to as "dancing" to Hailu Mergia (and Low Mentality) around midnight one evening. Happy Daze.
I remember that too. He was one of those performers that I had really loved since discovering Walias Band in the early 80s. My dear friend Abate - who owned a great Ethiopian restaurant in town - was always so gracious with his time and knowledge. We would talk a lot about the pre-Derg days of music in his home country. That Walias album above is a great place to start for anyone interested in more.

Agreed Walias is the boy for sure. Wished I'd known about the music back then but it wasn't until the late 90's for me.

And I just learned about him yesterday thanks to you! I'll finish with the last 4 albums this morning. The albums featuring the Walias were 320kbps as well as the Yene Mircha album which I'll get to later this morning.

Found this one lurking on a hard drive. If the recent spate of live Can hasn't been enough. Very clever use of not a lot I'd say.
