  • As soon as it looks like there’s a consensus I’ll start the thread. Looks like Dukes is ahead by a nose? This seems to be the field.

What Are You Listening To Right Now At 25 O'Clock, Duke?
What are you listening to right now (
Kicked in the head in '25")?
What are you listening to right now (Sitting cross-legged on the floor, 25 or 6 to 4)?

  • I don't have a strong preference for any of them, including my own.
If there's one person out there who sees one of those and it makes them smile or gives them some sort of strong positive vibes, then that's the one we should do.  First one to speak to that criteria, wins.
  • My only concern is that the "Chicago" one might be too long.
I remember either the last time or the year before that someone submitted a long one and you couldn't fit it in the allotted space, so there's that...
  • As a suggestion, we could shorten my Chicago one to:

What are you listening to right now on the floor, 25 or 6 to 4?

but only too happy to fit in with what everybody else wants.

    .

“Above the Earth, Below the Sky”, an excellent 2009 Post Rock album by If These Trees Could Talk and “Hinterland”, a really good Progressive Rock album by Wobbler from 2005. Thanks to @Germanprof for the intro to Wobbler.

I was going to suggest exactly this yesterday but I wasn't in front of my laptop. Anyway seconded.

So many good releases on Hubro I let this one slip by. Thanks for the reminder.
  • If I am following the thread correctly, I’ll make a thread with the Chicago one later. Last chance to object until I get to it.

I'm currently circling back through my large stack of Hubro cds and seeing if I need to return some to the regular rotation.  I had the same reaction as you after listening to Stene's Lush Laments- how did I let this one drop off my radar?

It's been a winter wonderland here in Lexington, KY.  Nothing quite like some ambient Brian Eno to start the day.

  • In recognition of the passing of Peter Yarrow, "The Greatest Hits of Peter, Paul and Mary".

To quote AMG, "The most popular folk group of the 1960s, Peter, Paul and Mary in later decades have also proved themselves to be among the most durable music acts in history........Peter, Paul and Mary's roots run deeper than almost any other folk act one might care to name, while their appeal crosses audience lines that other acts couldn't (and can't) even approach".

    Chicago

This is where my vote goes!! Listening to it now

    @djh
Presumably you'll be going the UK route, rather than the weird hodge podge of the US releases? I find it fascinating how the catalogue was diced up to make more product for the US market, not that the lads had much of a say in the matter.
Of course, the original UK versions that I've always known. I've reached Revolver now. It is fascinating to see how quickly they developed musically, much of it I am sure under George Martins influence

  • All Will Prosper Goldmund

    One of my favorites
