Well, "Bruce" from Emusic has replied to say that the site had temporary issues earlier, and gave the catch-all advice about clearing my cache and cookies. All seems back to normal though.

It's incredibly buggy. I had to click to another page before I got a sign in option. Then when I clicked for details of an album, the page wouldn't load but it did helpfully sign me back out again. It's getting to the unuseable stage.

I just noticed myself that emusic was down and headed over here to see if anyone knew why. It's the middle of the day here (not that the UK is their priority!) and no tweets to explain it, even though the page directs you to the Twitter feed.
