A few of those emusic samples put me in mind of The Bonzo Dog Do Dah Band.

Listening to The Flying Luttenbachers now in What are you listening to right now? (part 3) Comment by kneedeep February 2011 -
Followed by a new, for me, artist. I stumbled across a live recording - Live at the Jazz Festival Willisau 2010, Willisau, Switzerland; August 25, 2010 - which so impressed me I ran right to emu for this, the only recording available there.
Thom, you reminded me of KBOO just down the road a piece from Seattle. Used to be a good station when I was in the Portland area - probably still is.I agree it's quite good.
I've almost dropped my subscription at renewal time the last couple years but they always come up with the $19.95/year deal and I can't resist.7 digital has The King Is Dead for $5I liked it immediately listening to NPRs stream due, as with greg, to the folk aspect.
I'm still trying to appreciate a couple of their previous works.
Used my Guvera credits to get it, but probably would have paid cold hard cash too.(Quote) My mistake.
Thanks for the rec - great stuff.(Quote)
Brighternow made the comment (IIRC) a while back. Somehow I missed amclark's mention of Rainmaker.@BN
Seeing that WOW!, I had to take a break from Scherer and have a listen.
Count me as one who doesn't "run screaming" from your recs.
