You are welcome. I think it might actually have been you posting that Swiss album some time back that alerted me to the label, and I have enjoyed reading about and listening to Water Beetles of Pollardstown Fen. The sampler I found linked somewhere else.
Let's Go Outside is an exclusive mix comprising
one and a half hours of music from Serein. Hear old favourites and
exclusive new pieces on this compilation made in collaboration with Headphone Commute.
Free to download and stream, this album offers a
glance back at where we've come from and, with six brand new, previously
unheard tracks, a glimpse of the future. It's the perfect way to get to
know us.
Here's an amazing set of free downloads if you like contemporary music.
BIRP.FM stores a different playlist every month consisting of about 75-100 songs. Get this though. It lets you download the most recent 6 months or so of playlists.
Important Note: It's not a direct download; you can either download it via bit torrent or using one of those free download services called mega.nz. I've used mega.nz lots of times; it's quite easy. (To see these links, click on the month and then click one of the download boxes underneath the graphic).
From what I can tell, all these downloads are authorized samples of new groups. I'm just getting started listening to them.
Most of the recent months have torrent and zip download links. But when you go 6 months and back, they just have streaming links (including the free soundcloud).
My faves so far include Marilli Remixed; Streets, Dreams, and Memories; TENT; Tapu 25; Common Ground; Bouwwerk; Onze Jongens; and Songs from "Vuka Vuka."
Ambientblog is very proud to present this exclusive download from Michel Banabila: a 38 minute soundscape created for Gerco de Ruijter‘s installation called Dissolve.
Dissolveis an installation bylandscape photographer and filmmaker Gerco de Ruijter, showing landscape images filmed in the Alamosa Valley, Colorado, near the Great Sand Dunes.
The shore of the mountain lake is shown in time-lapse images of one
full day, from early morning darkness to nightfall, comprised into 4
minutes.
Using animation technique, the reverse image is added, so the mirrored
landscape changes position with the real at about three-quarters of the
movie. From there, the next sequence starts in mirrored mode until it is
swapped into its original mode. This way, the images are shown in
endless succession.
The landscape and its mirrored image are tilted 90 degrees, so ‘form and landscape are interwoven in a poetic, abstractexperience‘.

Am I correct in thinking that you can only d/l individual tracks here?
Yes, this is true (and a few are badly tagged), but I appreciate the link! There's a 2016 one also on the sidebar if you missed the one from last year.

I see what you mean about the tagging. I don't normally worry too much but what a balls up. Funny that folk don't bother when it's supposed to be a high profile advert for the label!

One annotated list of best Indonesian music referred me to a website of Creative Commons albums from Indonesia, all of which are downloadable for free.
Bad news today in the RIP section here.
Five live sets by the Fred Hersch Trio have been posted as well.
