Broadband connection speed problems this morning so no album covers - it is very, very slow. I first played Beatles Hard Day's Night. Now onto Valk Trio At Work
Fantastic album. It will get filed under dream pop or something similar, but there is a real heaviness to it that you don't ordinarily find in that genre.

I've just watched Brian Wilson on Breakfast TV talking about the imminent release of the Beach Boys original version of this album. I havn't yet got that, so I'm playing this instead.
"A very versatile keyboardist who deserves much greater recognition, Don Preston is one of the few synthesizer players to develop his own sound on the instrument. Preston played with Herbie Mann while serving in the military in the early 1950s. He was part of the Detroit jazz scene after his discharge, and in the late 1950s he moved permanently to Los Angeles, gigging with Charlie Haden in 1959. Preston performed jazz and experimental music in the 1960s, including with his group Aha! in 1963. He worked on and off with Frank Zappa from 1967-74, toured with Gil Evans in 1971 and played with Buell Neidlinger in the 1970s. A busy studio musician for decades, Preston has occasionally appeared in L.A. nightclubs playing with advanced musicians. Preston recorded a duo album with Mike Mantler in 1985 for Watt and as a leader for Echograph in 1997."
+ The Italian percussion wizard Andrea Centazzo . . . Great stuff !

Passages performers include Schroeder on piano and electric bass, soprano Erin Bridgeman, the multi-talented Rick Dimond on accordion and vibraphone, clarinetist/composer Michael Henson, harpist Jane Grothe, flutist Jennifer Amox, and new music clarinetist Marty Walker.

Based on Daniel's rec. Good indie pop of the Slumberland variety.

Thank you to ScissorMan for introducing me to a Factory band that I was not familiar with!

Thanks, BN, this is indeed nice (and NOTHING like the abrasive experience the cover led me to expect!)
