The Spotify links take you to a page where you can jump to the album if you have Spotify installed. I didn't use spotify: links because they don't work on all devices.

Fun Poppy stuff. From Spotify New Releases.
That looks like a Zenith Trans-Oceanic Radio he's carrying.

Good Blue Note deal at eMu.
Ah, that Burrell page is hot - it also has a link to a Philip Catherine album I have queued on a SFL.
Good thing I copied the links - did anyone ever realize that the stuff that appears on album pages changes? I got a slightly different set of recommended albums when I went back to that page.
Jodi Cave - For Myria
ETA, discovered this one is only $3.43 on emusic (12k releases are usually 5.99). Mixture of drone, chiming tones, rattling noises, field recordings, with the usual 12k fierce attention to detail. Nice.
And yet I would probably dig a 9-disc set of previously unreleased Barry Manilow Christmas Favorites, as long as it was titled "African Scream Contest."
Natural Process by New Century Classics
See bandcamp thread.
Tools by Giuseppe Ielasi.
I submit that track 2, "Rubber Band", is hands down the best elastic band recording ever. (Check it out, those on spotify!)

Was looking for the Graham Nash. Guess I'll have to dig in the crates for the Vinyl.
Interesting album. Definitely worth a spin.
Good recent Amazon deal...no longer available in mp3, funny enough.

Kind of in the Shuttle358 mold. Very static.
(third) Stunt by Giuseppe Ielasi
It would be fun to see folk actually try to dance to this. Makes me imagine someone trying to play dance music on an instrument that requires the continual manual pumping of large bellows to make noise.
"Divisions in Parallel, the third full length cd by Seattles Son of Rose (Kamran Sadeghi). On Divisions in Parallel we see Sadeghi depart from his previous palate of synthesis and altered recordings and find him exploring the world of electro-acoustics, paring digital processing and synthesis with a grand piano. Keeping in his purely improvised style, nothing here is studio trickery. Sadeghi dives head first (sometimes literally) into the tonal qualities of the piano, producing a shimmering, delicate and subtle world that is pleasantly diverse despite the tight parameters in which he works."

And yes, that is an image of the album cover.
ETA: Being British, and therefore inclined to think that any road journey over three hours is the other end of the country and only to be attempted at special holiday times, I am about to shatter my longest road trip record (seriously, by about 500%) with a little jaunt from Michigan to Mississippi and back (about 15+ hours each way) via Indiana, Illinois, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Little stop in the Smoky Mountains on the way back. A few geographically suitable playlist items planned. Be back in a week or so.
AN INTERNATIONAL TRIO OF GREAT IMPROVISERS
FRITH, SCLAVIS, and DROUET delivered improvisations with a clear sense of intersecting personal
vocabularies. FRITH displayed versatility, moving from abstract textures to searing linearity to dulcet,
fingerpicked folkish melodiousness. SCLAVIS responded with lines that built from warm, bubbling
melodies to insistent, fiery flurries. DROUETs whistles, bells, and hand drums were an effective complement,
creating a flowing open pulse. Their playing displayed a warm, relaxed sensibility. The
extended improvisation moved from open, free sections to heated intensity, ending with an intimate
interchange of Flamenco-like, dancing guitar patterns, Arabic modal clarinet, and tinkling percussion.
At times though, the improvisation rambled as the three players searched for transitions, particularly
toward the end of the set.

Marihiko Hara - Cesura - [Zymogen - zym016] (September 27, 2007)
"Marihiko Hara designs minimal sound sculptures with poetry and soul, gives weight to pauses, and breaths life into silences and melodies without emphasis.
Cesura is such poetry."
