Anduin - Stolen Years
- "In August of 2011, Jonathan Lee lost the majority of the files and gear for his Anduin project in a home burglary. Stolen Years contains the remnants left from the two previous years of exploration and frustration. Sounds creep in and out of headspace, warping into strange rhythms veiled in shadowy musical themes. These rough mixes, sketches, and reworked pieces use fragments of the artists life in new contexts. The music and artwork is a portal to a subconscious world, a framework from which one can create endless mythos. The album includes contributions from jazz musician Jimmy Ghaphery, mastering by sound artist Lawrence English, and extensive hand-drawn, hand-screened artwork by Team Eight"

We are on day 2 of our three day summer in the UK, so I have actually been sitting in the garden reading instead of listening to music - the first time for about two months that it hasn't rained heavily in the last 48 hours. But the Beach Boys does seem righ for summer music, so
It's pretty good overall, this is my first run through all the way. It's not their best obviously, but it holds up as a whole better than anything in a long time, some songs, especially the first, and last three are really good. Considering I paid $.99 for it , I'm not at all disappointed.
Sorry not for posting for a bit but what with an aged parent having an op and trying to keep work together its been very busy, Thanks for the Megan and Tia heads up I have been downloading them and look forward to listening to them.
On Saturday I managed to get to the River of Music Festival where I saw the Wynton Marsalis Lincoln Jazz Orchestra who were brilliant and headlinlers the Scissors Sisters were really good as well. It was staged in the moat of the Tower of London which made for one of the stranger places to see a gig
Last night I had the rare pleasue of sitting in my garden and listen to this
She has one of the most heartfelt voices in music and all the songs are great.
Here in Olympic city its getting quite exciting, hopefully it will all go well and then the English football season kicks off.
Lowlife - glad your back. I know what you mean about London. I've been working there a fair bit recently and every day there seemed to be something different - new signs at the tube stations, road changes and so on. We'll be back on Friday for the weekend so that we can watch the Road Race on Saturday - hopefully seeing Cav win Britain's first Gold medal. And it is great to have some decent weather too. So is Modric staying? Weird situation at the moment but Levy always hangs on for the highest price, so I expect it to roll on until the end of August (memories of Berbatov, for example)
Thanks for reminding me about this, Jonah, via BTW. Thursday is refresh day so I needed to use up some credits before going back on hold, so it was good to take this off my SFL.
Glad you like, Plong. Concluding my mini-George Adams festival is this set. He apparently specialized in pairing with piano bangers, ie, Pullen and Tyner!
Also interested to learn he recorded with Gil Evans and with Mingus, more to explore...

What is the new album like amc?
Delightful. Like working with the radio on, only it's 1947.

Comets On Fire - Field Recordings From the Sun
One of the great things about the old emusic was discovering things like this that only cost 5 tracks.

Just what I need at this moment and I have no regrets adding my broken fourth part to their pretty three part harmonies.
