  • @BT, may your preparations go well, and may you get a good committee. The last committee I served on (for another university) was a little bizarre, and left me wondering if at least two of the examiners had actually read the dissertation. May you get examiners who are diligent enough for you to show what you what you know and neither vindictive nor overly focused on their own special enthusisams.

Fwiw, if Google images doesn't immediately spit out a 500+ pixel square image, I then check http://rateyourmusic.com/, which reliably features often best-available cover art supplied by users.

First full lenght from Sheik Anorak solo project.
Somewhere between noise, avant pop and free experimentation; Sheik Anorak build his own music via loopers, a guitar and a drumkit.
This is the "pop" side of Sheik Anorak who is also active in the free improvisation scene and plays with musicians such as Weasel Walter, Mario Rechtern, Colin Webster, Mark Holub, Dragos Tara, JuanJos

    Un Festin Sagital - Pharmacon
    - U.F.S. is an original and psychedelic experimental band from Chile. "Pharmakon" it`s the debut. The instruments here are drums, bass, guitar, a hammond, an analogue keyboard, cello, violin, and what we call "electronic expansion". This is a very polychromatic and intense work; dark, de-ranged, rational and irrational. Maybe in some moments near to the music of The Residents, Faust, Electrodomesticos, Nurse With Wound, Pink Floyd (Barret`s era) or Legendary Pink Dots. But also very unique and fresh."

  • @BT - sounds a fascinating topic BT - a few years ago for a number of years I taught a final year undergraduate module on Contemporary France. Regionalism is a key component, with many historical undertones. Best wishes
